Seriously...? Halak, Huet, Anderson, Elliot, Ellis, Roloson

Those are not face of the franchise caliber players.. they are starting goaltenders..

you are not the franchise player just for being the goaltender

Halak single-handedly carried MTL relatively deep into the playoffs the season before, that was an extremely controversial move at the time. He was their most popular, effective and marketable player when he was traded.

He didn't say franchise goalie originally, he said Starting goalies don't get trade often.

As pointed out 4 or 5 were moved last year alone.

Is Jaroslav Halak the same caliber goaltender as Ryan Miller? No

Did Jaroslav Halak have the most per say.. "jerseys sold" for Montreal?

he was not a cornerstone..

Halak single handedly beat the #1 seeded Capitals and then the defending Cup champion Penguins.

Halak and Miller are more similar than you think.

This year, Miller isn't playing like one either.

Halak was as important to MTL at the time he was traded as Miller is supposed to be for us.

thats your argument?

The significance of Miller being traded would be similar to the Patrick Roy trade. All because of what Miller did in the Olympics.. (not saying it is perfectly justified) but it would be that big of a deal

No, really. Montreal doesn't get close without his performance.

Besides, how many goals does and assists does Miller have in the postseason? Not a winning argument.

I'm putting into context the quality of teams Halak defeated, not rubbing it in. It is part of my argument, not some kind of lame bragging.
