How has it not been mentioned that Ryan Miller is now tied in total wins with the Dominator Hasek.. but Miller did it in 70 less games... - MillerTime1130
Cause Hasek has 81 ties and Miller has 27 shootouts wins.
Cause Miller's had twice the the teams in front of him game in and out than Dom ever had.
Its a non issue for me. Hasek is top 5 of all time, Miller doesn't come into the conversation til 75-100 IMO, if at all.
We really have to stop comparing the two. Its not fair to either player. |

Don't forget though - wins are easier to come by nowadays with the shootout. - SabreSufferer
True... thats a valid argument..
Otherwise I don't think Brodeur would have caught up to Roy either..
people are also saying its harder to win now with the overpowering offensive teams |

Now I did not watch all the games and what not when Hasek was a sabre.. But are you just biased to say that the team in front of Miller is twice as good?? Thats not saying much.. |

Go in the Internet hockey database and look at the teams in front of dom and tell me he had equal talent around him compared to miller. |

In my opinion, Hasek is the greatest goalie of all time, bar none.
For most of his career, Hasek carried average teams or worse. He never, as a Sabre, had a decent defense in front of him.
Brodeur had Scott Stevens. Roy had Chelios, and later Bourque. Hasek had Alexei Zhitnik. |

So then we can say that if Miller gets 27 regulation time victories in the next 70 or so games than it is comparable?? |

In all fairness, Miller has had some pretty sad teams in front of him as well. The 2011-12 Sabres, for example. |

If I can say Dom gets 55 more wins do to his ties. Dom in a shootout would be unstoppable.
Its just not a fair comparison IMO for either guy. |

Brodeur played for a borderline dynasty and really benefited from the trap style his team practically invented. That said, he is an all-time great.
Hasek is the one Sabre I will tell my grandkids about. There was no one else like him. He didn't have the trap to help him out or a team with any all-stars. He wore pads significantly smaller than what we see on goalies today. When the best offensive Sabre was Mike Peca, they still had a chance to win every night. Greatest Sabre of all-time (sorry Gil) and probably the greatest athlete the City of Buffalo has ever seen. |

I am not calling you a liar FYI... I am a huge Hasek fan as well..
In the old NHL games I would trade for him from his Czech team to back up Miller. I liked the guy a lot. |

Yes, but i think we would rather have Leino and roy or stafford going for him.
Carter may make over 5 mil but he is a top line center and has scored 40 goals before. I think 5 mil could be a bargin compared to other guys that are #1 centers - Cpilc
Common Cpilc you should know better, you are not allowed to like Jeff Carter and have an opinion of about anything hockey without deadheads approval. |
