He's sick alright, he's a pain in all our a$$es. - SABRES 89
I think it's more the case he causes more fans to seek anger managment. |

I agree I don't think Darcy will pay that price but I think Howson will come down on what he wants. - sabresfandan
Hard to say eveyone has an opinion about Carter, I like him and think he would help but there are some that think he is a shoot first and pass third kind of player. |

If I still lived back home, I would go to the Sabres bowl a rama and throw balls at him. |

We lack a lot in the goal dept and Carter is clearly a sniper/finisher I really think he'd help here a lot. |

Was going to bring in a dummy Darcy to the hockey game and hang him from the 300 level tonight but I couldn't go because the GF works til 9 and I have the boy to watch. |

Well the rumor is they want a top 6 roster player and a 1st for him. Same as it cost to get him.
Thats a top 6 and a 1st rounder too much IMO. Can't imagine he'd feel any better playing here over Columbus either. - dadeadhead
The bars stay open 2 hours longer in Buffalo, that'd make him a bit happy. |

He'd be probably an upgrade over Roy, and considering the cap hit and length of deal, would be a better value.
He'd still leave us looking for a playmaking pivot to go between Vanek and Pommer, personally I think Carter/Pomm/Vanek would be like oil and water.
We'd also still be looking for more character in our lineup. |

It would be a gamble with him . Either he lights it up or us fans try to run him out of town. See Leino , Boyes, of this year . He is a center we could really use , but i would want one that doesnt cause too much attention. someone with a pommer type style . |

He plays the same style as Roy. Straight up, and for $1.2mm more (but on a long-term deal as Roy is about to expire), I'd rather have Carter.
Send them Roy a pick and a prospect. Or Roy and Morrissonn (we forget about him but he's a serviceable lower-seeding dman. We just can't afford to keep him with our cap situation). |

I'd rather move Roy.
Offer our 1st and Sekera for Stastny.
Ennis could be the answer on the 2nd line
Sign Stoll in the offseason for 3rd line duty.
Van/Stastny/Pommer
Leino/Ennis/Stafford
Adam/Stoll/Kassian

NHL network was talking about how Miller tied Hasek for most career wins as a Sabre and EJ Radek made a comment alluding to Miller possibly not being here... Which leads me to believe that he's heard talk of a possible trade or at the least some teams calling to see if Miller could be available...
Interesting IMO |

They also interviewed Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch and he thinks that things are so bad in Columbus right now that Carter and Prospal will definitely be gone by the TD and an outside chance that Vermette and Brassard could be gone as well. |

This is pretty solid. Not sure how it shakes out with Statsny's cap hit and the Stoll signing but pretty good. Who are you looking to get back in return for Roy?

Prospal goes to a cup contender my guess Pittsburgh.
Vermette to Detroit
Carter to Toronto
Brassard to Dallas |

Aren't Staal and Crosby hurt?
Makes sense to pick up a player for free that is a position of need. - dadeadhead
I looked into it more. Apparently O'reilly had some chemistry with Steve Sullivan in Nashville. A majority of his points came with Sullivan on the ice. I guess even if it is a total miss we are only on the hook for something like 150k. |

Late 1st early second.
Roy and Sekera make 6.75 Stastny makes 6.6.
Sign Stoll for 3mil.
18 players signed 4.3ish in space left. |
