great idea.. lets take a player with about 8 games played in the nhl at wing who is still learning the speed and skill of the nhl level and make him play a position he probably played when he was in midgets.. that shoudl surely not ruin his progress.. - SabresFaninIndiana
Whoa whoa whoa.. put down the pitchfork and torch...
It was just a simple question... I remember reading months ago that they had the line combination in practice of 26 - 54 - 29 so I assumed he did.

Agreed. Lets hope it works. - dadeadhead
This is getting way too far ahead, but perhaps, assuming Ennis can a.) play the position, and b.) maintains a non-cancerous attitude, he could fill the #2 center role, when Roy is gone, leaving only that huge, gaping void at #1.

wow.. under the bus I went. - MillerTime1130
and don't come out till i tell you to..
sorry i am just sick of all these transformations of wingers to center.. and to do it at such an early stage of his career could be devastating to his development.. We have Roy, ennis, goose and adam who have all played center throughout the majority of their career.. if needed boyes, ellis and mccormick can fill in.. there is no need to ruin the development of a player during a lost season

i heard Grags played forward in rochester many moons ago.. lets give him a shot at the pivot position.. throw him in there between pommer and staff and see how it works - SabresFaninIndiana
i went to a sabres game this year, and watched a lot more on tv, plus, i like macaroni and cheese, and played center in a few games in bantam. i think i'd be a perfect fit.

i thought it said that Ennis hadn't played the pivot since being on Medicine??
Well atleast the sabres haven't tried Vanek or Pominville at center yet

mayb on ennis i thought he did in the AHL as well.. but i think his game suits the center position better.
they did practice pommer at center and he may have played there a bit.. when hecht was converted they were trying to decide between hecht, pommer and Al as to who would be better to convert

I liked Max also. The dude was way too fast for his own good though - CaptainRivet
Part of Max's problem was that Lindy Ruff continued to play him with guys that couldn't skate with him. That made both Max, and his linemates a liability. I know there were times where he didn't warrant top 6 minutes, but putting a guy like that in the bottom six is one of the worst things you can do to a team.

he makes almost a mil now, expect him to double his salary. - dadeadhead
it is lucky that he's been injured so much, hopefully we'll be able to get away with underpaying him. or maybe darcy will just accept his agent's first offer.

Yep. He can't produce with friggin' Adam Mair.
He was outstanding with Roy and Vanek. Then came the loss of Drury and Briere, Roy promoted to 1st line C and the downfall of Max.
