phils have a couple excellent beat writers in matt gelb for the inquirer and david hale for the news journal (paper in delaware). i don't know nearly enough about football and especiall not basketball to know how good those guys are.

it's when hayes, donnellon, sheridan, and all those other staff writers chime in that make me want to burn down the building at broad and callowhill. i would give an anonymous tip to rich hofmann before doing so, however. almost always like his take on things.

The last time we faced Nashville, I really feel that was one of those games where the Flyers shot themselves in the foot. It was winnable and we allowed to game to get away from us. Same thing with the last time we faced Ottawa. We were up 4-2, we were playing well and then we sat back and let the game slip. In my mind these were 2 games we could have won but the last game against the Jets was a different story. We started off rather sluggish but we got stronger in the second half of the game. We just ran into a hot goalie. Tonight, if we can stick with the program and play sound team D, we'll win. Not having JvR or Briere can't be an excuse. If Giroux shoots on night, that could be the difference.

Bull-poopy. Cuncussions are caused by the brain bouncing around inside the skull. Unless Bauer found a way to put foam around Giroux Brain, extra padding will not prevent the whiplash action that causes Concussions...

But it wont hurt to try.
