after looking at matt fords stats, it seems the caps robbed us again of a potentally half decent dman for a nothing nobody. |

marshall was brutal. could he get better? maybe. even if he does become a regular, it will be as a 6 or 7, but i have my doubts that happens. as of now, he was 9th or 10th on the depth chart. |

#1 dancer on the knock knock song, but we have no other ahl dmen that could be worth calling on if we endure another injurie rash on our team.

Yeah, i don't get this one.. sure Marshall wasn't great yet, but this doesn't even get us any further ahead. |

yea its not even a sideways move...its literally one step back because we gave a dman that can come up to the big club and fill in for a couple games for an ahl player that wont ever see the nhl.... |

I don't like giving up on young dmen. Look at MAB.. he had to pay his dues, and now I think he's a serviceable dman. I was trying to think, do we need a contract spot for another move? Is Ford signed past this year? If not, maybe that's what's going on.. |

So what's it going to take to get Allen out of CAR?
6'5'' 226lbs. Lefty (Dang) and fine +/- for the clubs he has played for. Couldn't hurt. |

He's 31 but was a 4th overall pick. I would do that. |

Marshall was most likely a career AHL defenseman.

Marshall was the reason this site took a dump for a half hour?? I was expecting a Suter deal when it came back online.
*I thought Marshall had a future here, somewhere, sometime*

orrrrr he just wasn't in nhl plans anymore, they didn't want to qualify him this summer, so they get a guy to help the phantoms down the stretch (they desperately need help scoring) who is a ufa this summer so another contract slot for them. |

Could it be something to do with contracts or a need for offense in the AHL? |

How is it a step backward? This trade isn't about prospects. Marshall isn't in their future plans. The Flyers have injuries to the forward core. They are having to call up Forwards to the Flyers, leaving the Phantoms short at Forward. They Phantoms had 8 defenseman. This is a deal to give forward depth to the Phantoms. It's a shame that a 2nd round pick, if I remember right for Marshall, didn't work out. But that's life.
And it also give Marshall a chance in another Organzation. But I wouldn't expect to see him as a regular in Washington any time soon. |

It is interesting that many are throwing Harry Z's name in trade talks. I'm not against moving Z but I'm not sure he has much value. In my opinion the only thing that works in Z's favor is his speed. He doesn't have size, he doesn't play on any special teams and he's nothing more then a 4th liner in the NHL. If we were to move Harry with the loss of forwards, I would think we would move him for another forward. |

I'm really worried about Bryzgalov in playoff shootouts - Jsaquella
Your worries should be more than offset by Bryzgalov's performance in the face off circle. |
