There's a joystick joke to be made here, but I don't think it's appropriate for a family forum such as this. |

Nashville currently sits 4th in the Western conference and is one of the hottest teams in the NHL right now. There's no way they're trading away one of their best two players for young players or prospects if Nashville thinks they have a shot at a cup. And this might just be the best team in their franchise history. If Nashville does try to make a deal, it will be to ADD a forward. They will be buyers, not sellers. Can we knock off the Weber/Suter talk until the summer please? It's just not going to happe right now. Sorry my orange and black brothers |

Ok Can you name another player in the league that would fetch you that kind of return? - Philly1980
No.. because I dont think Nashville would trade both Suter and Weber along with 2 firsts for one player... unless its Crosby pre-health issues. |

Even then I doubt it. Weber's a Norris caliber defenseman. Suter would be a number one defenseman on probably 20 other teams. You don't trade guys like that in a package to get one guy. |

Doesnt make sense to do it either. They could trade them both in seperate deals and get a ridiculous return for each. |

That's what I'd do if I was Poile. I'd get a stack of assets back if I was forced to make a deal...but rather sign both. |

Exactly. Giroux is a heck of a young player.. and is fun to watch and what not.. but I think G for (a signed) Weber would be a toss up..

Weber is a fantastic player, but at $7/million+ per season, his value diminishes.
Giroux, at $3.75 million/year, has his value increased by his contract. |

Yes there is going to be a lot of talk during and after the game about how the Flyers should trade away the franchise for Suter or Weber RIGHT NOW. As much as it kills me to say, I don't want the Flyers to make a big trade that involves Schenn and JVR. At this point the only Flyer I wouldn't mind parting ways with at the deadline is Voracek. Guys like Suter, Barrett Jackman, Corey Sarich, Hal Gill etc, can be signed in the summer for nothing. The one guy I think can be had for a decent price is Shane Doan. Voracek and a pic/prospect for Shane Doan! - TonyBazz
Why would the Flyers give away a young forward in Voracek, and a pick or a prospect for 36 year old Shane Doan. What does that do for the Flyers? Does it put them over the top? That's the last thing the Flyers should be doing. |

If its Voracek + a pick or prospect you better be getting back a guy like Bogosian or Del Zoto |

I don't think there's anything assclownish about wanting your team to keeps its best player. |
