MAB has been pretty brutal of late (imo). I think he comes out and Lilja goes in.. if not just to give Bourdon a game to watch from above, and Lilja a stay fresh game. - jak521
He's been obviously playing for longer than Gus too. I'd give MAB a break for a bit |

That's why they wouldn't make that deal? Nashville could be last overall in the League, and they wouldn't make that deal. - MJL
I doubt they would do it, but the values are about right in the offseason, assuming niether guy wants to sign...
Suter, ufa, a First for just his rights is almost overpayment.
Weber, RFA for Giroux and a first. Is also a slight overpayment.
They would be hard pressed to find a better deal then that. Though I would never do it from a Flyers point of view. Giroux is about equal to Weber in my book. And Nashville would likely not do it, because no matter what happens I believe its thier plan to resign at least 1 if not both. |

You can't trade 1 player making $3.7M or whatever the exact number is for 2 players totaling $14M. Or am I missing something? |

Little risk in a 10-year investment? Not sure how you reached that conclusion. Injury-history or not, 10 years invested in ANY athlete is a high-risk move. Especially for a defenseman who likes to throw his body around. I'm not denying that he's the most likely candidate for a 10-year contract in the NHL; I'm simply stating that no player should be given that many years. - steelydan
I disagree. A player like that should be locked up. The Flyers can insure the contract, to cover any salary issues in case of injury. And unless LTIR changes, the Cap issues can be dealt with if he sustains a serious injury. The risk is minimal. |

Best wishes to the Howe family, as Mr Hockey himself battles dementia. - Jsaquella
I will have the pleasure of seeing him be honored at the Vancouver Giants game tomorrow night. He is part owner of the team and he graciously agrees to come once a year for the ceremonial puck drop and to meet with 100 lucky fans.
My M-I-L has advanced dementia. Doesn't even know who we are anymore. It's a very scary and sad disease. |

The values aren't any where near being close in that deal. Giroux and Weber is pretty much a wash. And were getting 2 1st round picks and the rights to Suter also? |

Harry Z, Kevin Marshall, and a 2nd, for Weber! I'd be willing to SWEETEN the deal by throwing in a conditional 3rd. - MJL
Gotta include Shelley or Walker for salary reasons and you got it.
maybe include both? |

I hope the Flyers trade for Spacek and Hal Gill soon so all this chaos can stop.
Ideal no, upgrade yes.

That would be awesome, I'd be thrilled. The Preds are a very good team, that would be a solid win. |

Wow. I just checked. He's only started 5 games this season. I thought he looked pretty decent last season. I guess he took a step backwards. |

he cleaned up his act off the ice, asked for some help and made himself a better man and a better hockey player.

pretty sure he was in net for them against the flyers last year, and lost. 5 games all season? gotta' be tough to be sharp with that workload. |

Preds are 9-1 in their last 10. Of course the one loss was a 3-0 whitewashing at the hands of that stiff King Henrik.
I'm surprised Rinne isn't starting tonight, I thought maybe Nashville has a divisional game tomorrow night but they are off. They play St. Louis Saturday night.
Perhaps Trotz's thinking the Flyers are a .500 team at home, a good place for Lindback to get a start.
Lindback is 0-4 in his last 4 starts with an .818 save % |

Yup. Started 5 and mopped up 4. The true life of a back-up I suppose. |
