Of course he's injured. When isn't he. Not sure if he traveled with the team or not. He may have been rehabbing in Sea Isle City. - PLindbergh31
Jeff Carter (separated shoulder) will probably travel with the Blue Jackets to San Jose as the team gears up for a three-game California road trip. It's not clear if Carter will return before the end of the road trip, but the fact that he's traveling with the team is a good sign. Carter has been one of the Blue Jackets many disappointments this season. He has 10 goals and seven assists in 30 games. Jan 30 - 1:58 PM

Carter traveled with the team so he could enjoy some time with his good buddy Mike.

The Phillies have problems with the same situation. Anytime they face a new pitcher or a guy with a 5.00 ERA they cant hit. |

anybody see this from the kings/jackets game last night? i was watching in the 2nd period, but went to bed before the game was over.

The National Hockey League is looking into a scoreboard error at the Staples Center on Wednesday night that gave the Los Angeles Kings a 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
"We're looking at it from all aspects," NHL executive vice-president Colin Campbell told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun on Thursday. "We're sending two people out there. Is it possible for the clock to stop like that? We're going to look at everything."
Kings blueliner Drew Doughty scored the winning goal with less than a second to play in regulation to secure the win. But when the Blue Jackets looked at video after the game, they saw that the clock froze for about a second before the goal - meaning time should have expired.
Campbell also confirmed that regardless of the league's findings, the result of the game can't be changed. "No you can't," he told TSN. "Once the game is over, it's over."
Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson explained in his team blog on Thursday morning that the incident could have an 'enormous impact' on the standings.
"It's easy to say that this doesn't matter," he wrote. "We, the Blue Jackets, are in last place and it is likely not going to affect our place in the standings. However, in my opinion, this matters in many respects. It matters to our players, to our coaches, every person in our organization and our fans." - hammarby31
This doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The scoreboard isn't the official time. The official time is kept by one of the off ice officials, if I'm not mistaken. |

Oh, I thought he was saying the Flyers were giving up the picks... That really changes things... But still... People on this board dont have to be mean to other posters, whether they think the trades are stupid or not. I personally like discussing possible trades... Trying to estimate the value of players, and match them to needs of other teams... I'm sure other people do too... I like to discuss this kind of stuff with other people that do too, but what I dont like is when people are just down right rude to me, or to anyone else that comes in here with a legit question or opinion. We are here to discuss hockey and the flyers... and trade ideas falls in that relm. Please lets start respecting all posters that come in here and want to discuss hockey. You may not agree with thier opinion, but as long as its hockey related you should not be rude to them.
BTW MJL, this isn't directed at you as much as the whole board. Even though I don't agree with you a lot of the time, at least most of the time you respond to people's post with at least a expalination as to why you dont agree. - RooNosHockey

I believe what happened was the scoreboard's time got stuck, and because there was still time left, and the time resumed, the off ice official didn't review it to realize there was an error during the game. |

i watched the video clip on tsn just now and you can clearly see the clock stick just ahead of 1 second...for how long it's tough to say. it still might have been legit anyway. that's the kind of thing you can just go...oh well, meh. can't let something like that stand if it's not correct. - hammarby31
I think they have to look at it. Even if they don't change the outcome, they have to appear to be addressing any issue that could call the integrity of the game into question. A perception that the home team could get away with altering the game clock would be very bad for the game.
Unless of course it involves the Penguins, and then anything goes, integrity concerns be damned.
