It's not Q... It's the players losing each other's trust... Too many $5M+ guys on the roster... A major shake-up is necessary...
Replacing Q will not chnage anything for this team. - Nerko77
So what needs to be done?

It's going to be bad...I'm thinking 4 to 1 or 5 to 1. Flames will beat them every way possible.
But hey, Stan is going on the radio at 2:05 to tell us all how much he's trying, etc.....Spin control is in full effect. - SteveRain

What really chaps my ass more then anything is this team is primarily ALL talk.
I thought these veterans were supposed to stabilize things? Really? You get waxed, laughed at, and have the opposing crowd chanting, "we want 10" back in NOvember. You talk the good talk and then go out....and do THE EXACT same things that got you waxed back in November.
Why? You have goalies blaming D. D blaming forwards. Q clueless. Bowman mute. Forwards cherry picking. It's a perfect storm of crap...and honestly, I am ready to do the following:
1. The Division is gone. This team constructed as it is NOW, will NEVER win 6+ games in a row that will be needed to seperate from the rest of the pack in the central.
2. Instead, they'll hover around 4th-7th depending upon Nashville, STL, LA staying around.
3. They are 1 injury to Sharp, Seabrook, Hossa, or Toews from dropping off the map.
Lastly, lets all remember the most important thing...In a few weeks this organization gets a shot of hundreds of thousands of dollars when sacks like me have to pony up for all 16 home playofff games....That's all they care about. - SteveRain
Basically this is a team that got off to a quick start and accumulated points in October and November. All you have to look at is what teams they have beaten to earn most of their points, a list of luminaries like the following:
Anaheim (3)
Columbus (4)
NYI (2)
Winnipeg
Buffalo
Minnesota (2)
Montreal
Florida (2)
Calgary (2)
Edmonton (1)
They pretty much lose every time they meet somebody good, i.e, playoff contenders - Philly, Pittsburgh, Boston, Detroit, Nashville, St.Louis.
This team is only a borderline playoff entrant. They won't beat any quality opponent. |

So what needs to be done? - pri$ey
That is the $5M question...
Maybe a blockbuster... Toews, Hossa, and Sharp are 3 players I would not trade... Everyone else would be a fair game, depending on return...
Just my opinion... |

Perhaps it's that too. I can't argue that this idea also has something to do with what could be another peice of the Hawks problems. It's easier to replace a head coach than it is to move core players in a trade. |

Q will go before any core player on this team.
And I think Kitchen will go before Q. Those are your dominos. |

Exactly. Same players, but a different voice utilizing a different philosophy and strategy that plays better to the strenghth of the players he currently has. I expected Q to be seething last night when he was interviewed after the game instead I got, "We did some good things, until they scored their first goal." Well that's great, but what about the rest of the game. I was taken aback at how calm and matter of fact he was. If you didn't know better, you'd think he was talking about a 3-2 loss to Detroit or Boston in October. I was just stunned at his lack of passion last night. Things like the power play continuing to suck, John Scott playing and leaving this team short handed every night and not giving Emery a few more starts along the way when the team has played well with him in net, are just a few of many issues that he needs to shoulder the blame for.

If you want to add Seabs to the 3, I am with you...
Sharp is the only pure scorer on this team; this is why I am including him... |

I would think Kitchen is gone if the Hawks can't get past the first round of the playoffs. I would think Q and Kitchen are gone if the Hawks fail to make the playoffs.
If someone has an epiphany in the front office, it could happen much sooner. |
