Montoya is not the answer. He has been good at times but I have never seen an NHL goalie give up more long shots than he does. If isles want to be a playoff team they will have to do better than him. - Isles316
Disagree.......I didn't wanna like Montoya, but he's really good. |

Oh your right, I didn't like it, cuz using logic of course your right. Your a Richard for asking a stupid question. Like I just said, the next few games will give us all our answers. |

If PA doesn't resign with the Isles, I would be surprised.
He has really come into his own here. Why leave now?
Take the money and enjoy the ride!!!
Nielsen... I can understand. The Isles should have extended him last year.
Both guys I would love to have back on this team next year.
I really can't see alot of movement this trade deadline.
Isles need to make a serious run @ one of the two Nashville defenceman, and Parise in the off season.
Do whatever it takes!!! - jimmc7722
Not going to happen. I think Tavares will be the highest paid player. So I would be suprised if they go after Parise or the two Nashville defensemen. |

LEts relax and chill out seriously. We can all get along here we are all Islanders. You might love Montoya and that is great I am happy for you. I like him too but to be honest GArth will move whatever brings back the most.
As for Nabby not wanting to come here? I know the whole story I for one understand why he did not. Look at this team last year there was no silver line with this team they were horrible and there was no change on the horizon. He thought he was going to Detroit and for the Islanders to grab him he must of thought why there is no why you are making the playoffs why me. So he was a baby and sat out? But that was last year, this year he has done everything right. Maybe it is to show he can still play and get traded or maybe he has changed his mind. He is smiling no one talks bad about him and the guys love him. I was just saying dont be surprised that is all. If he gets traded I am not goingto cry about it then great if Montoya gets traded that is fine too. The Islanders have Poulin who is the goalie for this team and Montoya is not going to have a job here anymore. The only reason he is here was because the Islanders were desperate and would have taken any goalie back. If they Islanders goalie situation stayed healthy Neither Montoya or Nabby would even be here |

I'm in mineola, not hiding, yes and if you can read I said I, I'm not the gm, neither are you. And its 0-0, people don't win or lose with people like you. Enough of the bull, let's just get some freaking wins and move up in the standings. Let's go isles. |

I'm very relaxed..........you can have a 36 year old Nabokov who refused to report. I'll take the big Cubano at 26.

For those of you who still read BD Galloff, check this out regarding Brookyn:

It seems to be that at the very worst (depending on your perspective), the team will relocate no further than Bklyn. I think the Isles in Nassau is as good as done come 2015. Its just a question of whether the Isles relocate to the Barclays or if Queens steps in with a better proposal before then. |

Queens would be the best bet because Nassau and westers Suffolk fans can easily make the games (in a reverse commute as well). However, no arena built right now.
Brooklyn is a bit of a trek for Nassau/Suffolk but it looks like an option that could very easily end up as the final location for the NYI. While I would like it for my own selfish reasons (I live in Manhattan so I can just hop on the subway), it might alienate a majority of their fanbase. Barclays Center has its pluses and minuses but in the end if its the only option, then you wont hear me female doging about it.

That statement by Bettman to Fishler about driving to Brooklyn from Nassau, Suffolk or Queens not being the easiest thing to do..........is horse sh!t. How many Ranger fans living on the island drive to games? The LIRR takes you right to the Barclays center. |

I live in the city as well, and i have season tickets to the isles. I prob make 30-35 games per year. I also know Ranger fans who live in suffolk who have season tickets at MSG. I guess the bottom line is, if you like the team, or if they are winning........fans will find a way to get there. I personally would prefer Brooklyn because the owner of the nets has F.U money, and Jay Z is just a winner. Partnering up with them, would be a smart move.

Truth is, with the team in Nassau right now, they only draw 10K at most for most games. And that's being right in the thick of convenience for Nassau and Suffolk fans. I know, the team has sucked for a while so nobody goes to the games, but I really don't think the attendance will be any worse than it already does by moving to Bklyn and will likely be even better, even if the team stays crappy. No doubt, driving to the games will be rough, but the drive home won't be. Truth is, fans can take a train from Mineola or whereever, get to Jamaica and its a short shot to the Atlantic Ave. station from Jamaica. The stadium is walking distance from the LIRR. Its not the end of the world for Nassau and Suffolk residents. |

Gary Bettman just doesnt wanna get any grief from James Dolan, who owns the controlling interest of the Knicks, Rangers, and MSG, which is also owned by Cablevision, who also owns Newsday

I personally think people would have no problem hopping on the train and going to games in Brooklyn. You figure the train fare is offset by parking, you can get wasted and not have to worry about a ride home, and you get to enjoy all of this in a state of the art facility. I happen to live in Island Park and the ride with transfer would be like 50 minutes. Leave by 5:45-6 and your fine. I think it's way more convenient to an extent. |

I think we have a better chance of seeing Goldie "the guy who wears the gold wig at the games" wearing a Lundqvist jersey than the isles getting Parise

I live in Eastern Suffolk so it will be more difficult for me to make the games during the week but the weekends I have no problems. I for one just want them to stay in New York and if that means Brooklyn and or Queens then so be it |
