That was quite a shot taken by Schenn there. I dont care who you are, you get hit by a 230 lb man throwing a punch as hard as he can its gonna hurt. Regardless of what the tough guys in here think....

Of course a smartass comment was coming, when we play in another building, we don't do well when the crowd is loud or the other team has serious momentum because the players think to much and get too cautious instead of playing and reacting. - _Zippy_

Don't be silly. You were just told he doesn't fight. End of discussion.
I wonder if Schenn knows Kovalchuk doesn't fight. - PLindbergh31
Kovalchuk only fights when someone does something to another player of his. He fought Avery two seasons ago after Avery made a remark towards Brodeur, and he fought Schenn after Rinaldo slewfoots Parise. He is a pretty nice to see that from him from time to time. Elias is the same way with getting redemption, if he gets mad, he gets redemption, but he does it clean. Elias doesn't fight though. |

Kovalchuk has won more fights than the Flyers "enforcer" this year.

I am pretty sure that's what I said?
When another team has momentum, our players get antsy and don't just play and we sit back too much. Realize a complete difference from right after the 10 minute mark then five minutes left in the period when we settled down? - _Zippy_
I'm having trouble following...it's loud in here and I'm getting antsy. |

I don't recall this to be honest, but I won't argue with that.
I still think Rinaldo is lucky that Kovalchuk didn't get to him earlier. Somebody should've done something more for that slewfoot, plays like that have no place in hockey, if Mills or Boulton did that to Giroux or Jagr, I would be embarrassed to be a Devils fan. - _Zippy_
he's the reason why briere is out with a concussion.
i don't like what rinaldo did there either. |

Flyers played poor in the first two periods, that's given but it's tough when thy are constantly shorthanded. I haven't complained about the officials this year, but you know what... they had a direct impact on the game. The Devils had a 5 on 3 in the first three minutes, a second 5 on 3 later, a brutal non call that resulted in a goal. They were not consistent, they were confused, they had no outline of what would be a penalty. The non-call and then the penalty on Hartnell at the end of he period were just bad. Granted Hartnell did act like a Richard, but let's be honest, he was punished for running around by the goal, it was unnecessary. I don't know if the Flyers win or not, but to ignore the complete disgrace by these refs is short sided and ignorant. Hope the Flyers and Bryz play like they did in the 3rd tomorrow. |

might not have changed anything at all, but it wasn't going to make it worse. - hammarby31
Just goes to show what a difference a few games can make. A month ago no one would have wanted Bryz in there if the score was 10-0 methinks |

Here's some facts for you. Volchenkov has had 2 fights in his entire NHL Career. And hasn't fought since the 06/07 Season. What does that tell you? So go ahead and waste your time and challenge him.

Agree. If you are old enough to remember Ed Van Impe, he would have found a way to send Volky a message without dropping gloves. A healthy Pronger might have put in is two chops, er... ah... cents. |

Nope. He's never fought before in his life. If a Flyers player dropped the gloves and starting punching him, he would simply stand there and not fight back. |

Well unfortunately, it's not the 70's anymore. And the game just isn't that way anymore. The players no longer police each other.

Most likely yes, and if need be I'll provide the proof of the last time he was involved in an altercation, he did not fight back. I keep reading fantasy here. Instead of the reality that Volchenkov isn't going to fight. Which is backed up by the facts.
