Devils are one of the only teams to not have a player suffer a concussion this year. *knock on wood*. - _Zippy_
That is pretty lucky. They have been ravaged with other injuries though. Deboer has done a nice job, considering an old man goaltending tandem. |

Combined age of goaltenders: 67
We haven't had Henrique, Zajac, and Josefson in a game together this year. All 3 have been ravaged by injuries. And our top two centers aren't natural centers. If we weren't so good on the PK, I think we would be as good as Buffalo. The PK has given this team so much momentum either from killing it off or a SHG goal. |

Flipping between the two games, Isles/Sabres is actually a more interesting game if you can believe it. |

Devils will probably get the 6th seed and have a first round matchup with the Panthers, while the Flyers reward for finishing 4th/5th will be a series with Pittsburgh. |

I remember about 5-6 weeks ago during the Flyers/Caps game we were all laughing at Tomas Vokoun (me included). Looking at his numbers now, I'm not laughing anymore. |

No need to fight Volchenkov. Better to repay him with a nice clean open ice hit.
Play the game, sure take numbers, but play the game. |

I thought he would pay a price today in one way or another, I was wrong. |

Vokoun's number are solid, but middle of the pack. I'll take the Bryzgalov we've been seeing the last couple of weeks over Vokoun.

I would take Bryzgalov as well, because he is 4 years younger. Flyers have to cut down significantly on GA. It's a combination of playing better defense, and getting better goaltending. I believe they are 23rd in the League in goals allowed. Not nearly good enough. |

That's my ideal situation.
We can play Panthers or Capitals. Both are beatable. Hope that 7 and 8 beat Boston and NYR, or at least one. |

Simmonds hit him every chance he gets, and threw a couple of punches. They got their revenge, and more. |

Completely missed the game. Had to rely on ESPNs app, so I have a few questions I'd like input on....
Were the penalties called on both teams legit?
Was the defense bad, or was Bob leaky? Or both?
What's the take on the Schenn fight? I hear rumblings of "bullying"...what's the deal with that? Do we think it gave the boys a spark at all?
The Flyers in the 3rd- were they that good (forchecking, good decisions, puck control, etc)? Or were the Devils just folding and quitting since they were murdering us?
Some feedback would be nice. Thanks.
Also- I can't help but notice Bryz pitched a shutout in relief. I know it was INCREDIBLY small sample size... (What? like 10 shots?) but his play of late has been stellar, and it's even harder to be good cold turkey off the bench.
I hope it's a sign of things to come
Moreover- it's good to see the fight in this team. Yeah the got spanked- but they came out in the 3rd and buried 4. I like that kind of never die attitude. Man I'm really in love with the group we have this year. |

There were some bad calls in the game. It did not impact the outcome imo.

Bob had very little to no chance on probably 5 of the 6 goals he allowed.

Schenn challenged a much bigger Kovalchuk, and paid the price.

Combination of both.

Bryz made a couple nice saves. Faced 8 shots. No pressure in a game that is already 6-0. I take the Winnipeg, and Nashville performances as more of a positive than the game today.
I hope it's a sign of things to come

Dating back to the last 20 home games of last year, the Flyers home record is 17-18-9. 27 losses in 44 home games. This is a sample size of a full home schedule.
Someone has to figure out why this team can't win at home. They literally have zero home ice advantage. Makes no sense to me. |

Volchenkov has been a thorn in the side of the Flyers since that brutal and cheap hit on Gagne almost 2 years ago. There is no question he won't fight but the team can do a better job of making him a marked man. He can dish it out but he better be ready to take it. |
