The headline if there was one was "Jeff Carter Does Not have a No Trade Cause", which I guess was the worry among GM's. What they did say is, the Clause was notified due to him being traded this past summer but the other will be kick in by the time he reaches his 27th Birthday (Which I can't confirm or Deny). Then after a certain amount of seasons, he has a limited No Trade but I don't know what year it is.
Luke Schenn just scored his second of the season. - Schenn2shine
No player is eligible for a NTC/NMC until he has reached Free Agent eligibility. Which is 27 years of age, or 7 Accrued Seasons. So Carter would be eligible for Free Agency until after this Season. So that's when his clause kicks in. Now I don't know if Columbus agreed to honor the clause or not. I don't see why they would, if they don't have too! |

Luke is trying to show off his skills for the Flyers - bigmookalookie
I'm happy with getting Luck Schenn for JvR if another player somehow comes back. If we can manage to pull Kadri from the Leafs with Schenn, this deal would already be done from my point of view.
Has anyone took notice that Timonen's contract is done the moment Weber becomes a UFA (should Weber make it that far). |

I just read something that I think says that I'm wrong. This is from capgeek.
If a player waives a clause to accept a trade to a new team, it is rare he will do so without a promise that the acquiring team will continue to honour the clause. Brad Richards, when traded from Tampa Bay to Dallas in 2007-08, is an example of this. However, if the player is traded before a clause has kicked in, that clause is automatically ruled void. - MJL
I wouldn't worry about Carter not waiving it. |

I heard some speculation that Detroit might be interested in Carter. He would thrive there.

Gotcha. Now things are starting to make sense here. That's a pretty smart rule in the CBA. |

JJ is a decent d-man, but not what we need. If we are trading JVR, we are gonna need a sniping winger. Our strongest feature is our young depth. I feel there are way too many rooks in the line up. We need a stay at home dman who kills penalties and intimidates and destroys people in our crease. Gill would be a perfect fit. Package JVR and maybe MAB for a Nash or a Ryan. Now we have a team. |

Somebody help me out.
JVR is out, at least in part, with a concussion, correct (so hard to know these days)?
The trade deadline, is, what the 27th?
How is he part of any trade rumors? |

Something new that I just learned about. I did not think that was the case, that a players NTC/NMC is voided if he's traded before it kicks in.

I don't see how Johnson is an especially good fit for the Flyers, though - Jsaquella
having a puck mover locked up for 5+ yrs at 4.35 MM w/ carle unsigned is not such a bad thing. he's a better offensive plyr, though all-around not as good yet. given the landscape of the flyers d, I think it would be a good move and it would allow them to just bring in a steady Eddie type to compliment. |

I'm watching the Leafs/Sens game. I can't help but really like both Luke Schenn and Matt Carkner. Could you even imagine Shea Weber playing the right side of the first pair, Schenn on the right of the second and then Carkner on the third? All right handed shots |
