Wow. I was sure he was going to get the death penalty after reading all the outrage from the devils fans a few pages back. Suspended for life at a minimum. Apparently those guys are too young to remember Claude Lemieux.

I agree with J-Saq. Best way to make a guy like Volchenkov (who won't answer the bell for his own dirty play) pay is to crush Parise, and keep doing it. And every time let him know that it's payback for the cheap shots of his teammate.

I agree with some that are in the room, that Homer will make a splash and shock the poop out of all of us. I have a feeling he is guaging whats going on and will make a move. If Bryz keeps this up you add a guy like Gill and the D gets really solid. If you like him bring him back on a one year deal. Not like this team will get broken up anytime sooner. Young team and will only get better as time goes on

Just watching Taylor Hall play tonight. It just makes me think after watching Hall and Tavares get drafted and then Stamkos. Stamkos to me was probably the least hyped first rounder in recent years.

Gill is a playoff warrior and a pk tower. Plus he is nasty at 6'7. Allen is good, but Gill I think just gives more of that edge we need.

You're right Allen is only 6'5" and plays a very similar game but isn't slow as hell.

Problem with Allen is that the Canes will want a good amount back for him. Gill will cost less and not cost a high draft pick. Id rather have a guy like Gill for the Playoff run and pay a 3rd rounder instead of playing a bit more for Allen. We will see though, Homer always has something stirring. Guy is always thinking ahead.

I can't argue Gill hasn't been a PO warrior and that he didn't mean a lot to PIT when they won the cup. He is and he did. 2 yrs ago and the guy is slow. Hatcher/ Rathje slow. I thought we moved past that type of player. I agree it comes down to what the other teams wants in return but I would be willing to pay a bit more for Allen. He was a 4th overall pick for a reason. Size, speed, blocking shots.

If the Flyers could pull off a deal to get Meyers id poo all over myself. Heard that BUF may be interested in trading him. I dunno if they are but if homer can get him id say he should get GM of the year hands down
