OMG he's so tuff and rugged. JUST WHAT THE LEAFS NEED!

It's a shame... That kid's stock just keeps falling. I know that he was every Leafs fan's wet dream a year or two ago, but what would the price tag be today and would anyone here be willing to pay it?

All the rage used to be re-uniting the Schenn boys in Toronto. Now, it looks more likely that neither of them will be here.

He may be a bit of a "homer" and not as sharp as he once was....but Bob Cole makes a dull game exciting...he is the voice of Canadian Hockey!!
- bazookajo1

I would take Bob Cole over Jim Hughson as the full time broadcaster for HNIC no doubt about it. Bob would still be the fill time guy if the stupid fans didn't complain about him soooo much. Well I hope they are happy with Hughson now

Bob Cole rocks!!!

Anyone catch the mistake last night by Glenn Healy on HNIC? In regards to last year's Leaf trade for Gardiner & Lupol, Healy said "Gardiner was the throw in & it was Lupol the Leafs wanted". WRONG!!!! The original proposal from Burke was Bullsh*itman to Anaheim for Jake Gardiner but Duck GM Murray insisted the Leafs also take the struggling $4 mill cap hit player in Lupol.

Get your facts straight before going on air Glenn

agree with what your saying, Burke ALWAYS shows respect for his players. A guy he just acquired, he's not going to say " well this guy Lupol, we didn't want him but we were forced to take him as a salary dump or else no deal".

I always thought he'd be a perfect fit in TO. Too bad he didn't make it on the UFA market as the Blues were smart enough to sign him before that happened. The only chance Leafs would even have had a remote chance to get Backes is if the Blues has bombed this year, with the Blues sittin pretty, VERY highly unlikely. Too bad though, he'd a been a beauty centering Kessel & Lupol.

In all fairness they should have had a proper replacement for Cole over a decade ago, like watching an old boxer who was once great keep fighting well past their prime. A whole generation of fans watching the senile, almost lost Bob Cole, not the guy who was pretty much the best in the business in his prime, that Cole will be forgotten about, especially by this generation of fans.

I'm glad he didn't re-aggravate that concussion when he ate Kovalchuk's fist.

I really do hope the guy succeeds. I would love to see the Schenn brothers become a force to be reckoned with in the NHL.

no need to defend Healy... the amount he spews every game is actually boring....

and lest you/we forget the "Reimer is embellishing" call when hit by Gionta.

Personally I'm starting to hope Burke stands pat on trades from here to the deadline...reason being a trade for a big name is very unlikely unless it involves really taking a chunk out of our developing depth...and that depth is working so far...I think we should be patient and let the seeds grow, then ideally upgrade via UFA in the offseason without giving anything up
- Zezel

agreed....
although I'd like to see Burke move Komisarek if at all possible, resign Grabovski and I think its time for Crabbe to go back down for Frattin.

something has to give there... i guess he sits out again tomorrow... too much money to be sitting in the press box

and crabb is no longer waiver exempt being 28 with 118 games under his belt so unless a trade or injury occurs, frattin likely spends the rest of the year with the marlies.. also.. i'd assume kadri is ahead of him for callup winger as well
