49 shots, all of which were from horrible angles lol.

Reimer was a vacuum though. Zero rebounds.

I wouldn't say all. A lot of the saves Reimer makes don't necessarily look like huge saves because when he's on his game he's so positionally sound.

I don't think you'll see those two as a tandem for "years" considering the talent in the system at the Goalie position...
- SofaKingBored

I don't think so either, but i also don't think letting Gus go for nothing is the right choice. Yeah we have Scrivens, Rynnas, Owuya, so what. Gus is better than all of them RIGHT NOW, if we run into depth trouble in the future, deal with it then. Gus will not be expensive. Before the NHL he was very coveted, we keep him for another 1-2 seasons and he does real wel,l we could actually get some kind of return for him.

Yes, they are also the last of 11 teams to be in the +
Theyre at +9 in 11th place, Washington is next in line with -1
Looks good, i really hope we can land 6th seed, or Division win ( but that is REALLLY stretching it)

- JDBrickz

Catching Boston is an impossible stretch, but it does show you how tight the standings are. The 6th seed is totally possible, but so is the 10th spot at this point...the most positive development for the Leafs right now is they've gone 14 games without giving up a short-handed goal and are getting some goaltending numbers for sure in the New Year between Gus and Reimer, with the Kessel line and the Grabbo line both going, and the D scoring. And they have a healthy roster for the first time all year, having Brown, Armstrong and Liles all back in there is crucial imo...we couldn't ask for a better state of affairs for this point in the season, if you'd told me where we'd be at right now I would take it with a big spoon

I don't totally agree. Boston is not entirely uncatchable, they've been playing absolutely horrible hockey all of February. They're looking a lot like the Bruins of October, if they keep playing like this they will drop REAL fast. If you look at our schedule in the next 5 games, i actually whole-heartedly think we can win 5 straight. For boston i wouldnt say the same, if they continue on this slump ,and we manage to beat them for the last 2 meetings we have with them, it's very do-able, we're only 6 pts back.
That being said i think Boston is a way better team and they'll find themselves before the playoffs, but still do-able if our PK keeps rolling, our goalies keep getting shutouts (5 in the last month) and our top 2 lines keep going.

ALSO, a nice thing to remember, had the penguins not lost to the leafs, they'd be 10 game win streak, we stopped that, We've won 2/3 with NYR, 2/3 With Pitts, we have great potential, we just need to stay healthy and learn from our mistakes, which i think the leafs have done a great job of doing. The old leafs used to make the same damn mistakes night-in-night-out, these guys actually seem to be learning and improving, Leafs are going to be a real force in like 2 years.

Bruins win a lot of their games by being damn scary and mean and you can lose that edge at times throughout the season.

You are right, they will find it in time for the playoffs

I'll be happy and somewhat surprised if Toronto even makes the playoffs. Finishing ahead of Boston? That's as close to impossible as it gets unless they start getting injuries.

Yeah i said it's pretty damn close to impossible, just wishful thinking, and so false to say impossible. The Leafs have played really good hockey in 2012. I'm pretty confident we will make the playoffs. We will finish 6-8th imo.

It's looking good for the playoffs right now. I hope they continue to play well. It's very close in the East right now though and I'm still very cautious with my predictions because of how they've played since the lockout.

Yeah but i think this is a completely different team, imagine what we'd look like had we not lost reimer for 7 weeks? We'd have at least 3-4 wins more IMO, which would what put us at 4th place? Sure most of the year is gone, and its pretty late to make a run that big especially because it always seems that the top teams play so well the second half, but it's do-able with this squad.

Not gonna be here with what-ifs forever though, like what-if our PK was this good all year, what-if we had B Rich, blah blah blah, we're 8th place, and i like our chances. BB will make a move soon to improve the squad, lets hope its considerable.

Oh and Shine unless you care to elaborate at what you find so funny about a fan being hopeful in the good things his team is doing, then GTFO

Well, now that Gagner has it all out of his system, he shouldn't be a threat for at least another dozen games.
