Bryz may not play consistently well at any point this season. There's a lot of big UFA guys that have off years after signing the contract. It is what it is. If he doesn't play better next year, I'll start to worry about the long term ramifications of having Bryz here. |

The difference today is that Bryz doesn't make the saves he needs to. Hank makes the saves to give or keep the momentum and Bryz doesn't. |

this is not a contending team. not even close. - hammarby31
They are close. You are going to tell me that 2 years ago that team was? No friggin way. This team is heads and shoulders above that team. They got in on a shoot out. They got hot at the right time and the setting was awesome. NJ- we owned them that year. Boston, injures started taking their toll on them and they had a rookie goalie. Montreal, joke. You saying that cant happen now? We couldn't get in as a 4/5 seed. Play the senators, we own. Then maybe pitt, we can definitely win in 6 or 7. Its possible. |

Nothing on this team this year has been consistent. Bryz certainly wasn't the issue yesterday, and yet they still lost. - feelingkettle
they lost yesterday because they weren't ready to play and lava waited too long to make a goalie change - combined with a bit of bad luck and brutal officiating - and you get what you got.
bryz seems incapable of getting past the bad goals. every time he takes a few steps forward, he plays like he did today, and he's back to square 1. when is the last time you saw lundqvist give up garbage like bryz today? even 1, let alone 2? he just doesn't give up bad goals. the rangers are a collection of lunch pail players with a couple of "stars", one of which is they're goalie. they work ferociously and don't give up garbage and they win because of it. the flyers don't have that attitude, and they don't have the goaltender. |

They arent a contending team. But is that news? The playoffs are a long way away. A couple of lapses in concentration by Bryzgalov. But there is still time. He regressed today, but has been showing progress. Carle makes a bad turnover. But how long has it been since he's made a gaffe like that? Bad choice to try and make that pass, on the backhand no less. - MJL
That explains one goal but not the other four that he let up, lets face it the real difference between these teams is goal tending and the Flyers just can't deliver on that aspect |

8-9 rookies being counted on in big roles, it is a rebuilding year, and they are lucky to be where they are.
G and Hartnell are having career years, and the last few games have taken a step back.
Who is going to carry them when G has off games?
They need Jvr to step up especially when G is not performing, and he has been hurt.
Simmonds though has continued to amaze me.
He showed some sweet soft hands on his goal today. - Marc D
Forwards are generally ok. Scoring goals and such. It's really the D that's the problem, and unfortunately unlike the forward core, there isn't much to look forward to here other than a big trade or big UFA signing. |

Rangers are in a groove right now, they just make the easy play to get pucks out of the zone every time.

If they have to play the Rangers in the playoffs they are screwed, the fans said it right at the end of the game "you can't beat us" and they haven't since last season |

Im sorry but if Bryz gives up a goal like Lundqvist did on Simmonds people would be all over him. |

I agree Hopefully Bryz can get going before the playoffs happen. As of right now the Rangers have far superior goaltending. When Bryz is on his game and doesnt mind (frank) himself he can be a top guy. |

maybe we should trade out d too cuase they are the ones hanging him out to dry - griouxmvp2012
You ever play sports? If I'm out there battling my (frank)ing ass off every game, and this poopty goalie poops the bed time after time, why the (frank) should I care anymore? That 2nd goal cost them the game, they tied it back up, then Bryz costs them the game again.
It's not even a funny joke anymore

I agree. I like the guy but right now he could of made a statement and played balls out. Just didnt happen - bigmookalookie
Bryz has no fuc&ing balls really,
o o o o o my confidence, ooooooo
he's 31 years old & established, at least before he arrived here
done with this guy
he can join Wade Redden as yesterday was not on Bob, Bob was left alone & the hack on Giroux and allowing a breakaway from the non call screwed up the situation

the 2010 team underachieved, got lucky to get in, and had the chips fall in place. is it POSSIBLE they could go on a run when it matters? yes. is it likely or something we could count on or expect? no way. |

I agree, very tough to be a rookie D man in the league.
They have played Bourdon and Gusty a lot and it has hurt them.
Those guys are learning as they go and the mistakes n D are magnified. |

This is the most disheartening. Fine, a poop shot gets though, but don't let it change the rest of the game. Stuff snowballs on Bryz, and some of that has to do with him mentally. Can't let that happen, just have to go forward. Even if the 2nd goal gets through, if he makes the rest of the stops he should, the game may have turned out alright. |

Goaltending is a big difference. But Bryzgalov isn't at fault for every goal. Team defense is also a big difference between the two teams. I've said it before many times. A tight checking team backed up by a good Goalie will beat an aggressive offensive team, the majority of times. Especially when that team isn't particularly good defensively.

Lets enjoy him for 1 year more before we cannot afford him. He will probably score 20+ this year and next and with the hustle and grit, thats probably a doubling of salary at least.
I wish I could say that we would have won the game with Briere and JVR. Problem is, I don;t think we would have. We might have with Pronger fully healthy though. |

Thanks for telling us that you don't. They are professional athletes, they don't quit b/c someone else is not playing up to par. Furthermore you don't point fingers in team sports, you find solutions. |

The team defense is the problem. And when it comes to team defense, the forwards on this team as a whole, are not okay.
