Of course they let them score, every one and their mother who knows anything about football knew they were going to let them score. We were all talking about it in my house while watching, saying they needed to let them score. It was a no brainer.
Even the Giants knew it wasn't a good thing for them to score even though it worked out in the end. - MBFlyerfan
That opening of the red sea & handing them a TD blew me away!!
All the years the steel curtain played, (Bradshaw Franco), etc, I couldn't picture them opening up and allowing Staubach to take the lead so they could have more time on offense
Might be why I can't watch football very much anymore, I understand why they did it, but that should NEVER happen in a game, ever,
Could you picture Lambert side stepping Robert Newhouse in a Steeler Cowboy superbowl?
I think joe does. schenn can't consistently crack the lineup right now in TOR. and saying he is less of a valued asset than j Johnson is wrong, IMO. - isaiah520
I don't think Joe does at all. Schenn has played 51 games this year. So explain how he can't consistently crack the lineup?

tell that to this guy
- JoeRussomanno
BIIIG difference between that 47 yard field goal attempt and a chip shot from inside the 20.
Seriously. Why are we even discussing this? Anyone who has even BASIC knowledge of football knows New England needed to let them score. Even The Giants knew it. Their running back knew he made a mistake going in to the end zone when he did. He made a stupid play by scoring.

Why did it blow you away? It was a smart play. You act as if it was the first time this situation has ever come up.

What was the distance on that FG by Norwood Joe? If it was a 47 yarder, and if the Giants were that far away, do you think the same strategy would have been used? You can't compare the two situations - MJL
The distance is irrelevant, the fact of the matter is the giants fought the bills in that game into a choking situation. The Giants made the Bills try to beat them they couldn't. Making a kicker miss a field goal or blocking a kick is less risky than trying to score a TD with less than a minute and one timeout.

You should of told him that stupid Parcells - bigmookalookie
Yea that guy was dumbass. Now I'm kidding.
But seriously Parcells would have never done something so asinine as let the other team score. Neither would Bellicheck but considering his pennance to getting caught cheating is throwing superbowls for the giants it all evens out i guess.

I agree with what you said. L. Schenn would be a very good player to add to this team. Along with someone eles - bigmookalookie
for jake, not for JVR. mismatching assets in trade for a need is usually a bad move. j Johnson is insurance against the loss of carle and locked in for 5 yrs at 4.35 MM. like carle, he can improve in his own zone and he brings more to the pwr play. guys like schenn are not difficult commodities to find, but puck movers are. that's why gogo fetched Neal and Johnson, Stewart.

Ughhhhhhhh finally got you kidding, took you long enough to get sucked in again to keed.

The distance isn't irrelevant. If the Giants were going to have to kick a 47 yarder to win the game, I don't think NE would have let them score there. So how is it irrelevant. I can't discuss this anymore. It's really so simple and a no brainer to know that NE had no choice but to let them score. I'm done here.
Ugh rough weekend for the Flyers. Family stuff for me all weekend so didn't get to watch either Flyers game...seems like a good thing. Least I know it ain't me jinxing them
So what is new? Any word on Briere coming back soon? I saw the other day that he said was was getting close, but have seen nothing since.
I wish van Cartsdyk would get healthy soon so they can package him in a trade for Weber

Guess whatever happens, happens. I dunno wtf is gonna happen but its fun to talk about. Just heard the Boston Bruins might wanna re-aquire Gill. Christ that would only make that team tougher to play against

Parcells is a smart football coach and would have done EXACTLY that when faced with the same situation, as have many other football coaches in the NFL over the years.

Johnson has a long way to go to be as good as Carle is in his own end. I disagree that guys like Schenn are not difficult commodities to find. That's a crazy statement. If that was true, the Flyers would have one to take the place of Bourdon or Gustafsson.
