It's his last year in the NHL anyway, cut him some slack. He's got 8 points and only -1 on a cluster(frank) team.
- Fredobface

Cut him slack yourself. He has no business on the team, let alone logging 20+ minutes.

I believe this is absolutely true. It is also the most overlooked and damaging factor I think.

Once an organization becomes perceived as being run by a bunchof clowns and icing a bunch of underachieving losers, it starts to snowball. Players stop wanting to go there, the team on the ice is in such a bad mindset it is tough to change. The fans aren't happy and become quick to jump all over the slightest negative...

I need only look at my own reaction to the Leafs to know how bad it can get. I hate to keep bringing up the Leafs in comparison but the Habs situation is becoming very similar. They need to change this perception as much as changing anything on the ice.

They can't afford any more stupid trades, or coaching language conspiracies or players who don't show any respect for the logo or the game...

Its not the first time in the last few years that they've had this kind of poop show...you just have to remember Gainey having long walks in the park with Kovalev and the team going bowling with Carbonneau. The difference is where they are in the standings and that team was quickly blown up after the Bs booted them in 4.

I'm thinking the problem is, in Montreal, the highs are REALLY high. The playoff euphoria from 2 years ago was probably for most of these guys the most exciting playoff run they ever had, in a hockey crazed market.

But when reality settles and you are no longer a "hero", it'S like it messes with their brains and they collectively fall apart.

Also, Gomez sucks.

When I was reading the blog I had the feeling that EE could've replaced "fans" with "marty"...but don't take it personal.

Ya what got lost in there was the fact that it was a Cinderella/David and Goliath thing that got turned into something else.

He'll never be credited for his efforts by his detractors, who refuse to offer an honest assessment
