They should have listened to us Josh......

It's true. Now they are stuck with him and we are stuck listening to "Markov skating" news for eternity.

Andrei Markov skated again this morning. By the looks of it, it's going to be a very long road to recoverzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

- RENATO6

No rush to bring him back....let him get his strength back...he has until September to get back in shape and heal his knee. He will look good playing with Suter.

The off season last year didn't seem to do him much good, as he hurt his knee and kept training on it.

Do you think the habs have learned their lesson and will monitor his rehab over the summer this year?

I don't know... I think you need to know what you have. If he is done you have to address that in the offseason.

Probably not but I'm guessing more than in past years. Take Asps kid as an example, He's a Detroit fan. The last player to really entice young kids to cheer for Montreal was Patrick Roy. Thats kind of sad.

The comments were pretty good for a few pages, but my attention span gave out so I picked this one to quote and catch up.

Roy was the last star, or last elite player to attract young kids to cheer for the team. But from personal experience, my son was quite taken by Saku Koivu in the early 2000's. He even wore #11 on his minor hockey team.

But the problem, in my view, isn't a lack of an elite player to draw the kids in, it's lack of success. Kids (at least those not in Quebec) cheer for who's winning, plain and simple. The Habs have not been very good at winning for the last couple of decades. It's easier for a kid in Toronto to justify cheering for the Red Wings/Canucks/Sharks than it is the Habs right now.

He will be monitored until april at least....then after that players go home and it's up to them to do the right thing. The last operation was minor, Habs will know if he is done or not by April and can make the decisions accordingly. At least the Habs have the better version of Markov now...in Kaberle (according to stormey)
