They need to fire Gauthier and let the new GM set his sights now on next years team. I have never been one to say "ok, see you in 3-4 years when this team is rebuilt..." I know a new GM and reorganizing the players with trades and signings can make a big difference but the biggest thing this team needs is stability again, here is your gm, here is your coach, now go win some F*#king hockey games. You look at most teams in the league today and they are all only an injury or two from being in the same boat as the HABS, there are two many good hockey players now, but like all of us, we need stability, and direction, just like the players!
Like I said above, name the new gm and permanent coach, adjust a few players and this is a playoff team again, maybe not a 1st overall type team but as we all know, get in the playoffs and who knows...
F*%k the rebuild, just reorganize and letthe players know it is time to produce! - HABZROCK
That's been the biggest problem with this organization since they fired Savard/Demers. when did playoffs become the end goal? we've turned into the Leafs.
also, don't hold your breath on Gauthier being fired. Cunneyworth won't be back, but Gauthier is 50-50. |

I agree 100%.
The Habs should keep the same players. - yemrots
If they can win the Octocup next year maybe they will make 8th place and then it's only one goal from the cup. |

I fear this as well. Are you telling me that out of the (frank)ing habs alumni, they cant find anybody who really knows hockey, about winning and can instill it in their players, teach them how to win? Either way, keep the young core and get of the rest. If there is to be a new GM, do it soon and allow the new GM the time to decide who he wants to keep, who he wants to get rid of and draft the players he wishes to. |

apparently Pierre Mcguire said the name "Mike Milbury" as someone he could see as a good candidate to coach the Habs...
If it's true, then he should not get access to the Bell Center ever again, not even to take a piss.

Milbury was an effective coach and produced results, this gets lost in the fact that he was the worst GM in the history of the NHL.
He's far too emotional
emotions as a coach = asset
emotions as a gm = liability
