I'm being sincere. Diaz is fine as a #5 or #6. Darche is atrocious. |

Ya he was a misfit for sure. We don't have anyone like that now. Hopefully White can get it together. |

You'd be very surprised how inaccurate this statement is. There are some young ones yes, but most of us ARE old enough, and many of us grew up in the 70's watching Cup win, after Cup win. And even the young ones are taught by their fathers/uncles/brothers, about the sanctity of the franchise. - hscesq
Well, yes, that does surprise me. With the wins in the 70s, someone would have to be well into their 40s to remember it properly. If your saying that's the majority of posters here, I'm definitely surprised. I would have pictured the average poster being in their 20's or 30's. |

He'll never be credited for his efforts by his detractors, who refuse to offer an honest assessment of his performance from night-to-night, but even a casual hockey fan can observe what he put into Sunday's game. - EE
Wow. Did I really just read that?

White isn't big though... Schultz is hot right now, 11 points in the last 17 games. Improved a lot this year. Might see some NHL ice next year. That's one guy who could get a hold of the bigger guys.... |

I said "many", not the majority grew up in the 70s. I was born in 1969, meaning the run from 1975 to 1979 was my first experience witnessing Cup wins.
And my point about the legacy of the franchise being passed down also holds true. |

Gomez is putting out the effort and deserves some respect for that. With regards to Hab fans, they've always been a fickle bunch and always will be. High expectations and a low threshhold for failure are traits in abundance. At the end of the day that Gomez trade was a brutal one, fine, live with it or whatever but then to turn around and drop that turd that was Kaberle enters into the unforgivable. Heads should roll and rightly so. - Pie
Well said, although I honestly don't know about the Gomez effort part.

Its not a size thing I was referring to, more of an attitude.. Begin was hardly the biggest guy out there. |

Even the Leafs legacy is passed down, somewhat, but that is diminishing.
The cup in 1993 helps keep the Habs legacy going. The danger is there though that the legacy will quickly fade into ancient history and will stop being "passed down". I see that happening with the Leafs. |

Since he returned from his injury I'd say he's been working his tail off. I'll give him that much, its not translating into points but he's not the on ice mess he was in the 1st half of the season or last year for that matter. |

Can't say he's playing THAT bad since his return. He still sucks and still is part of the team's problems, but he has not been THAT bad since a couple of weeks. He was in front of the net on Plekanec's goal Sunday, not accustomed to that. |

I was listening to ron last night, the question was, aside from Price, Pacioretty and Cole, who on this team would you see being still here in three years?...well a lot of he callers said Darche.
