He needs to improve defensively, but yes, your exagerrating. Burns is a converted forward. Johnson is playing big minutes in LA. That wouldn't be the case if he was as bad defensively as your saying he is. His contract is attractive if he meets his potential.

I'm aware he's a converted forward. He actually plays the same average minutes per game as Johnson. That doesn't make up for the fact that both of them are sub-par in their own end.

I will agree with you that if Johnson ever does become a polished, two-way d-man, then yes, that deal is suddenly a bargain compared to the rest of the league. I'd like to assume that was the intention of a guy like Lombardi, who's no "spring chicken" when it comes to being a GM.

But at this moment in time? I'd like Homer to pursue other options. Id like to think everyone would.

Giroux and Jagr both look real close to scoring , especially Giroux. Usually, the final stage of a scoring slump is an abundance of chances that just don't go in. For a while in Jan, Giroux was passing up his shots.

If he bags one yet tonight, suddenly he'll have scored in 3 of last 4 games and ppl will be writing about him heating up again rather than being snakebitten.
