Get the Flyers chant going
Get Flyer'd up
Have a couple beers and get right in to it.
Have a great night - Buts16
I tried getting the chant going last year, it seems sometimes that is taboo at those events when I go. Just seemed like the crowd from the old building was all about the ruff stuff |

A JvR/Schenn deal would benefit both sides. Right now we need an upgrade on defense. At the moment I think it's rather unlikely Carle gets moved, so I'm thinking because Timonen, Meszaros and CArle all have pretty good hands, the puck moment isn't the priority. I think we're rather soft back there without Pronger and I can't even stretch how important it is that we get a little tougher back there. Not that Luke Schenn is going to fix our defensive breakdown, it doesn't hurt to have a stay at home back there with talent and real experience over Gus and Burdon. - Schenn2shine
there is no respected talent evaluator who would consider such a deal to be a good one for the flyers- not one. there would have to be additional compensation from TOR. what would that be and how would that player(s) benefit the flyers? keep in mind that unless a 1st rnd drft pick was included it is likely that JVR will always be the best plyr in the deal...I don't like to be on the wrong side of that equation.
premier pwr forwards have been traded for offensive puck movers in 2 recent trades, not guys like schenn...and for good reason. jake for schenn, ok...but not JVR. |

He leads their team in +- with +10. He has 15 points, 175 hits, 77 blocked shots, and 34 pim.
If he was on our team his rankings would be.
Hits- 1st by 58.
Blocked Shots- 3rd behind carle and timonen (respectively)
Points- 4th
+-: 2nd to kimmo
Pim-2nd highest but all are very close... - jak521
Good numbers, yes. But the important thing is that the price is right. JVR is not the right price if you ask me. I'm not sure who I give up on this team for him that Toronto actually wants. |

Yea there was a handful of games i went to in the Late 90's that I can't remember if they won or not my memory is uh let's just say hazy But I'll never forget Tim Kerr's return in '88! - JoeRussomanno
I occasionally smell that stuff when I go into the bathrooms, though I never understood why someone would want to do that at a hockey game.... |

I disagree. JvR is worth more than L Schenn. |

Just said the same thing. If I am giving up JvR for Schenn they gotta make it a package.
maybe JvR and Gussy for Schenn and Kadri (something like that) |

Even if Bryzgalov doesn't make improvement the rest of the year. I will still have faith in him in the future. He's proven to be a very good goalie in his career. He just didn't suddenly forget how to play - MJL
Same here but you and I know we will have to change our screen names to defend him if he don't get it together this year
Anyway I hope gets the start tonight, i already saw Bob play last year and would like a sampling of the guy I play defense attorney for |

Yeah, it'd have to be more of a creative deal than just JVR for Schenn cause if Jagr goes down again that doesn't give us a lot of depth on the wings. |

Nice Yes I am overly sanguine this morning, going to a game later does that! |

I would not be happy with a JVR for Schenn deal, I would understand the thought process in making the deal I just don't know if Luke Schenn and the question marks about him is the right return. - Buts16
And JVR doesnt have question marks...Besides six games, he hasnt impressed me. |

When did I say Schenn was worth more then JvR? I'm well aware JvR is the better player. I made a statement on how the player would benefits the Flyers. |

He's not (yet) actually. He's not even good enough to play on the Leafs PK anymore. Which has been soaring since they removed him from it. - bradleyc4
More importantly, what is his +/-? |

speaking of which, I was amazed to read on ESPN: Gomez's last goal was February 5, 2011. Gee I feel so bad for the poor Habs. - FlyersFirst
Still chaps my ass that he won the Calder over Gagne. I was 11 years old and my new favorite Flyer lost to some bumhole on the Devils.

his career high is 16 and he's a reluctant shooter. JVR has more talent but he's been hurt this yr. don't get me wrong, I like jake, but he would be a guy I would move for a schenn. JVR I would move for a guy like subban, a top pairing dman. these are all young plyrs, so we are all doing some projecting here. |
