Carle has to be removed from the point on the power play. Amazing this guy does nothing to improve his shot.
- PLindbergh31

He does have a remarkable flip shot though don't you think?

There is far more to playing the point then having a big shot. How would you suggest he improves his shot. At this point he either has a hard shot or he doesn't. It's a mistake to suggest removing Carle from the point of the PP. The Flyers have the 4th best PP in the League. And Carle is second on the team in PP points from players playing the point.

All Flyers shooters need to watch what Burrows and Legwand just did to Rinne and Luongo in the SO.

I got the remedy for the Flyers in shootouts. Flyers use a puck, opponents use a medicine ball. I want to see Tavares stick handle one of those bad boys. I'm confident Bryzgalov could save 2 of 3 facing a medicine ball.

He just needs to skate behind bryz who will not move a muscle. We would still lose.

I'm sick of seeing his shot blocked, or miss the net. It's beyond predictable.

I'm looking past the three game losing steak, that happens to nearly every team during the course of an 82 game schedule. The much more alarming trend is the failure to win at home.
- PLindbergh31

They are 12-8-5 at home. It needs to improve. They have played one of the lowest totals of games at home in the League. If they go on a little run here at home, their home record will be right there with most of the top teams in the East.

I'd seriously consider using this guy for the shootouts...

Ummm. Bud, Simmonds has been better than Richards has this year, kicked more asses than Richards this year, and shows more effort than Richards. Plus we got a top prospect in Schenn who is very much like the young Mike Richards. I think you should get tested for concussions
- Richieattack18

i agree schenn will be like richards in a couple of years.i dont have a concussion just a hot headed italian.anyway homer has to decide are we going for it this year or are we 3yrs away.if we are 3yrs away trade kimmo, briere get some more young players free up cap space and lets do this right.if were going for it we need another d and maybe another forward.i rather do it the 3yr plan just my 2 cents.someone also told me this new cba might include a team option to void a contract has anyone else heard this?

Yes it does work that way. At some point whether it is in regulation, OT, or the shootout. You have to put the puck in the net at least once, to win the game.

What should they do, start drafting for the shootout? It's up to the players to get it done.

- MJL

Yes it is up to the players to get it done, Bryz committed a little to early on the first shot. The Tavares shot just beat him give credit to Tavares.

If Briere and Simmonds score how confident are you that Bryz out duels Nabby? Wasn't going to happen. So yes it's just not as simple as just making shots.
Using that theory I could say it's just about the goalie making the save.
The shootout is in Bryz's head.
I'm not burying the guy or calling him out just stating a fact that the flyers on whole blow monkey chunks in shootouts.

We all know the Flyers aren't good at the shootout. And yes it is just about the skaters scoring, and the Goalie making the save. How confident I am about any of it is really irrelevant to what happens on the ice.

We go for the cup every year. It's up to the players. Don't trade our most useful defensemen, i dont care what his salary is. We will be alot better in 3 years but we have serious talent to be competetive every year. No need to act like we are in total "rebuild mode" Thats Edmonton

That's all I'm saying. While acknowledging that the shooters have to score the goalie has to make the save. The goalie tonight has a 20% save percentage in the shootout. That means the shooters have to have an 80% scoring percentage when they are shooting. How many NHL teams have that scoring success in the shootout?
We all know you don't win a shootout if you can't score.
The flyers have been blanked in the shootout far to often.
It's frustrating watching Giroux miss on great scoring opportunities as well.

Unfortunately (or not, who knows) they're a better road team than home team.

Just got home from the game-wow!
So the Flyers have not won with me in attendance since March 10 1988 waiting for my brother to confirm this through text as he was with me at a game I think they won.

I am appalled at a few things aside from the team.
1. I cannot get over the amount of people who arrive at their seats past the halfway mark of the game. I stopped counting at 10.

2. A child under the age of 10 should not be allowed to go off to the restroom without a parent or responsible adult- yes I saw this happen.

3. I cannot believe Bryz posted a shutout through regulation and overtime only to lose in a gimmick then get booed by his home crowd completely classless imo.

This.

He's the one guy who can have a shutout and still apparently be responsible for the loss.

How about Read in the shootout?

Did they boo him during the three stars of the game? I hope not, guy has confidence issues and that ain't right.

This team needs a spark. I don't have the answer but if they are going to pull the trigger on a trade no matter what, why not now. We just lost to three teams in our division. BTW: I still stand by my comments that they played a good game and deserved to win.

Yes during the three stars of the game they booed him and I was livid and gave everyone booing him within earshot a piece of my mind. I'm sorry its not even open for debate- if you booed the guy your hockey IQ is less than my size 10 shoe.

The team has something just off with them. I don't now if they are forcing it too much or what. It definitely seems like they are trying to do too much in the offensive zone.

Defensively they made a few errors but Bryz was there. What the eff do people want from the guy? They did cheer him after every big save but then turn around and lay this loss at his feet is absurd!
