Bryz stopped 7 straight before Simmonds scored in SO in practice. - funmaster18
Mail this performance from both guys to last night when it would have mattered. |

I don't know what is more ironic:
1. Bryz stopping seven SO attempts.
or
2. Simmonds scoring. - KGBflyers10
3. Sam Carchidi being used as a hockey source.
or
4. Flyers fans being dumber than a bag of hammers. |

I don't. The Flyers had great scoring chances last night, and dominated the offensive zone on numerous occasions. If the system was broke or screwed up that wouldn't happen. Just because they didn't score last night doesn't mean a new system needs to be put into place. If anything, the Flyers need to shoot more, IMO. They are really biting on some opportunities, trying to do too much. - KGBflyers10
The System is not so much Broken, as much as they try and use it too much. They need to have different strategies. If Lavi can get this done with the players he has, great. If not, maybe you look to get a shoot-first guy after you get yourself defensive help.
If JVR returns soon, you have a "cluster" log... of forwards... I dont think it would hurt to trade a few of our depth players for a defenseman and a scorer.. |

The Flyers are top 5 in scoring. They don't have scoring trouble.
What kills them is defensive turnovers and the inability to clear the front of the net. - KGBflyers10
The Flyers were the top scoring team... I guess they had to stop scoring so much to drop 5 places... This team has really been struggling lately in all aspects of the game. Lavi needs to do something before it get out of hand. Soon people will start saying we only got hot because we played an easy schedule in November and December... |

Depends on what your getting back, but I would say the only untradeable is Giroux...
I would only include Schenn or Couturier in a deal for Weber, Nash, or Ryan.
I would only include JVR for a deal for L.Schenn and Toronto's first or in a deal with Ryan.
I would include Simmonds, Voracek, or Read in a deal for Iginla, Suter, or Jack Johnson.
I would send picks for Gill, Selannie, Jones or Ruu2.
It all depends on the return. But I would give up 2 forwards and picks to land 1 good defenseman and a scorer at the very least. |

They didn't win 5-0, they didnt put a single puck in the net despite controling the puck. Nabakov played great, but I still see the same issues last night, that I see when they Flyers play the Rangers, Boston, and just about every other good defensive team. The only thing keeping the Flyers in this is their scoring depth, but if teams start taking that away, you can see the trouble. - RooNosHockey
This years Flyers team boats a ton of rookies up front, along with a few 2-3 years players and they're 2nd in the league in scoring. They've been without Briere & JVR for awhile and held on ok. Give this team a year or two and they should be dynamic offensively.
No way you can convince me that their scoring depth is a weakness. The D needs an upgrade and Homer will have his hands full this offseason |

top 6 sources of wanting to hang myself (in no patricular order)
1) reading the responses on philly.com
2) reading the responses on comcastsportnet.com
3) listening to Angelo and Rhea talk about hockey
4) listening to Barkan and Ike talk about hockey
5) listening to 90% of the callers on WIP talk about hockey
6) myself for doing all 5 at times

Nice to see Bryz rite the ship after having a rough game.
The offense didn't do enough to get to the dirty areas and make life hard on Nabby.
Claude needs to bury 1 or 2 of the many chances he had. When you are the best player on the team and you get as many chances as he did, he needs to finish a couple of 'em.
Danny started to look more comfy as the game wore on.
The Flyers really played a sloppy first but started to play a 5 man unit game later in the second and in the 3rd periods. - ggunky
yup nice to see the flyers lose 3 in a row things are definitely right |

and what if you trade Schenn, JVR or Coutuier plus for Weber and he walks after one season? and I really would be VERY reluctant to trade a kid like Read who is on a 900K entry level contract. |

I never said scoring depth is a weakness, I said its the only thing keeping the Flyers in this. I said I would use the Depth to get a defender, and a scorer, because I dont want this year to go down hill. Retool. Turn some of your Offensive depth into defensive depth, especially if your paying guys like Talbot, Couturier, and Read on the 4th line... |

I stopped doing that stuff a while ago. Although last night I just had to vindicate my self on the ride home by tuning in to 610 for the last 10 minutes of my drive. Yes like Flyskippy said a lil while ago a lot flyer fans are dumb and the ignorant mainstream media isn't helping. |
