Yea. Unfortunately I'm stuck listening to 610's dribble. I dont like current Rock music, cant stand rap, or country, or blues/jazz, and I'm sick of listening to the same old songs on classic rock stations... And I'm not paying to have an XM installed in my car for a 20 minute ride to work... I just grit and bear it, and laugh at the fools... - RooNosHockey

U don't have to its going up on its own - JoeRussomanno
I honestly think it will only go up as the year goes on. He really does seem to be eliminating mistakes. If you throw out the Rags game, even though he did make some nice saves that game, and look at last night and last week's games, you can see a major improvement in Bryz's game. |

So you don't think that getting pucks to the net and going to the net are part of the Flyers game in and game out strategy? You don't think it was a part of their strategy last night, or that the Coaching staff was telling them to do so? There is a big difference between saying your going to do it, and executing it. The Islanders and Rangers will not mix up their defense or expand the box. They will stay in it, and challenge you to get the puck through. Did you see how many shots the Rangers blocked in the last game against the Flyers?
Here's the bottom line. Last night's game had nothing to do with systems. It had to do with execution. The Flyers did not finish on the quality chances they had, and they did not get enough traffic at the net. - MJL
I was just going to say, before I got to your last paragraph, that their biggest issue is execution. If they can get more traffic to the net, it will pay off in the long run. |

If the team isn't executing the system, then you either need players that will execute the system, or coaches they will make the current players execute the system... But the fact remains the Flyers pass east-west WAY too much, and it has to be corrected somewhere... Either a trade, or Lavi needs to swap lines, or something.
The Rangers will change thier defensive style if the Flyers switch thier offensive style to exploint the Rangers weaknesses. As long as the Flyers arent getting in front of the net for rebounds, and lundquist can see every puck that's shot, why would they change... |

Bryz hasn't been consistent, no doubt. he needs to be better overall, no doubt. but to start calling a deal a bust in one yr is ridiculous. To hear a host yesterday say "this could go down as the worst signing ever" after on uneven half season makes me sick. Athletes have bad days, weeks, months and years. Its frustrating but it happens. I am not remotely about to bail on a guy so soon.

you are very lucky. the reality is, while Philly may be a very passionate hockey city we are never going to be lucky enough to have dedicated hockey shows or real hockey guys like that. you will get the occassional host that knows a little about it but nothing like real hockey people. I loved the 2010 run to the finals because it was almost 24/7 hockey talk and a lot of guests who were hockey people. - nastyflyergirl
if they did have a hockey show, it would be startare (who can barely string together consecutive coherent sentences) hosting it on saturday mornings from like 6-8. |

Bryz played solid. Ran into a hot tender and we didn't make life difficult for him.
Positive thought of the day.. Bryz's Sp% is now at .900!!! Yess.. - Hextall271
Awesome! Made my day right there. Good game for the boys IMHO.
I just want to point out that all the talk of catching the NYR is great (positive thinking) but I am more concerned right now by being caught from behind. We lost a point to the NJD and didn't gain any on PIT. To me that is the news of the day.

No Coach can make a player do anything. The Flyers have the players that can execute the system. Trading a player or switching lines won't solve a team wide issue.
What is the Rangers defensive weakness? Their GAA is under 2 goals a game. When are all the other teams going to exploit the Rangers weakness, and get them to change their defense? They're not going to change regardless of what you do. It comes down to executing and winning the one on battles on the baords and around the net. And simply executing when you do get the few quallty chances you do get. If it was about systems, the team with the best system would win. |

That is what I've been saying this whole time. Guy just likes to ague symantics. Its not the System, its the Execution... WHO CARES! I said the Problem is the Flyers pass East-West too much, and dont drive the net enough, and that wont hold up against teams like Ranger and Boston... Who have good D and good G's... They have to stop the East West passing WHEN ITS NOT WORKING! |

Whatever they do, they need to figure it out by Saturday. If we lose to the Rags again I'm going to lose it. |

They arent executing against the teams that count right now... They are struggling. The cant beat the Rangers, or Boston. We struggle against Islanders, and Pittsburgh... What teams do you think we are going to be playing in the playoffs? You need to execute against these teams... For the standings, and for whatever edge you can get mentally for the playoffs. |

As long as the Rangers continue to execute their system better than the Flyers do they will not beat them. The Rangers OWN both nets in every game we've seen them play the Flyers.

The Flyers have done a nice job offensively this season. Teams go into slumps every single year and the Flyers are in one. The way to work out of that is to continue to work hard and create chances. Defense needs to be better (which it was last night) and the offense will come. |

What I meant by that, is that just because they are struggling against some teams, doesn't mean they need to get different players or a different coach. They need to work hard and get through it. Getting some depth at the TDL will help, but it won't solve all of their issues. |
