I thought he was pointing to Buff.

If he wasn't, he should have been.

Niemi should have been in the running too. 16-6 in the playoffs and calm as a cucumber the whole way.

Nobody would have argued if Buff had won it.

Honestly, Niemi wasn't that great in the Playoffs.

Played really well against the Sharks. Played sub par against the Preds, Nucks, and Flyers.

Or it's as bad or worse than first reported and this "latest" is just spin/damage control.

I'm with you on this idea.

Winter Classic confirmed today for Michigan Stadium. Brian Burke told Gary Bettman he can sell 40000 tickets in 48 hours, but he needs 72 hours to do 60000.

That team had sooooo many big-time contributions from players. Bolland, Keith, Niemi, Seabrook, Buff, Toews, Kane...they all had ups and downs throughout the playoffs (Buff/Niemi in SJ, Kane Finals, Bolland in Van). If you were to have had a vote, no player probably would have surpassed 35% of the votes. In that case where it is as much a team win as anything, I think it has to go to the captain, especially with how relatively consistently he played through the entirety of those playoffs (in terms of overall play/point production etc...was reliably good). People have made plenty of arguments for every worthy player on the blog, I don't think we need to revisit them. It wasn't like Z-berg putting up what 36 points (plus his contributions in other areas), where it was pretty clear cut. That is just what I think personally with regards to that trophy. There were so many good players for us that you could argue all day and not gain a consensus anywhere.

This for sure though Kane and Toews were a head of the pack with 28 and 29 points respectively. Bolland was pretty instrumental. Both Keith and Seabs were great. Sharp was an impressive +10 with 22 points...

Saying someone else should have gotten it is just like your opinion man

He found a way to win. And when you muddle past all the other BS that unnecessarily confuses the issue winning is ALL that matters. And no, I'm not Charlie Sheen. But damn there are days I wish I was!

I generally agree with this, but if you ask Flyer fans, a lot believe Niemi stole game 2.

Sometimes all you need is your goalie to win that 1 big game and it generates momentum.

JJ, if you're gonna rag on me for my "tone" towards others, I expect you to treat everyone the same.

I'll never give up on Crawford. His D corps has been crud in front of him lately, and granted he hasn't been sharp, i'll still take him over just about any other goalie outside of Miller or Brodeur.

Over Ward? Rinne? Lundquist? Price? Elliot? Halak? Shall I continue?
