JVR & L Schenn will stage a blind collision at center ice ending all trade speculation. - hereticpride
Like Knuble and Shanahan?! |

i think that if jvr comes back to the lineup tonight, that means he wants to get traded to toronto IMO |

I don't think it has anything to do with the concussion. Giroux has habitually struggled at midseason during his still-young NHL career before coming on again. I honestly think he's right on the brink of a huge game, and would not be the least bit surprised if tonight was the night.
From my observations over the years, scoring droughts often go in a cycle something like this:
1) A player gets away from doing the things that made him successful. No one talks about it in the first 3-4 games of the drought, but the player is quite often invisible on the ice in these games.
2) The player himself starts to lose a little confidence, and passes up shots he was taking before. Now he's being asked questions about why he isn't scoring, although the reasons should be obvious if you really look at his recent games.
3) The player focuses on simplifying his game a bit, and the scoring chances start to come again. Unfortunately, few (if any) chances end up in the net, because he's pressing to finish the chances rather than simply reacting.
4) Fans and media are now all over the players' case but it's just a matter of time until the beginning of the next offensive outburst; which often starts by potting a goal early in a game.
I truly think Giroux has been in stage 4 the last couple games. All he needs is to grab one early tonight and both he and the team will loosen up. - bmeltzer
This 4 step recovery plan beats the 12 step plan my wife has tried to put me on. |

We really need at least 4 out of the next 6 points this weekend if we are going to keep pace with the rest of the Atlantic, and 2 of those have to come against the Rangers. The Devils and Pens are nipping at our toes, and the Flyers have let an Eastern Conference lead dwindle to 4th. Ranger have points and Games on hand on us, these guys need to get going now. A 500 record, which is really below 500 because of SO losses is just horrible in the last 25 games... - RooNosHockey

So if JVR comes back tonight , this is our full lineup (healthy) minus pronger of course..NO MORE EXCUSES! If not much changes then this is the team we have...If we start to play better and rattle off some wins, then we can say the injuries were hurting us..Correct?? Although its going to take a couple games for both JVR and Briere to get up to game speed I think.
I think this is good for a full team right now so Homer can fairly assess this teams needs before he decides to make a move or not before the deadline. |

Realistically, they should go undefeated from here on out. No excuses. |

counting their swoon lately, yes, i'd say that would be a reverse regression back to the norm. |

I am very jealous. I've met a bunch of athletes and I would have to say two of the nicest were Bill Cosby and Sammi Hannu Antero Kapanen - Deasr1
For me, Bermie......had a nice chat with him and his son once at Whole Foods, Bob Kelly who wouldn't stop talking and Jim Watson altho I see Jimmy at the rink all the time so that kinda doesn't count. its amazing how cool the players from the 70's team are and now willing they are to stop and chat. Brad McCrimmon was very gracious too when I met him. |

Matt Read was the last one to get bumped down there.
My Guess:
Hartnell-Giroux-Jagr
JVR-Briere-Voracek
Scehnn-Talbot-Simmonds
Read-Couturier-Rinaldo
What I would Prefer:
JVR-Giroux-Jagr
Hartnell-Briere-Read
Voracek-Schenn-Simmons
Talbot-Couturier-Rinaldo |
