He's very entertaining...I dig him.

Carle contributes greatly to the team being a top offensive team. His ability to move the puck and make plays is a great asset to the team, and it's scoring ability. Carle would be a top defenseman available in free agency regardless of who else is available. Carle is far better then just slightly above average. And what he's going to get paid has nothing to do with being lucky in the year he went to UFA. It has to do with how good of a player he is.

And Yes the Free Agent market does determine how much players get paid. Its called Supply and Demand. Because there is a Large demand, and Little Supply, Carle will get much more then he would in other years...

I don't really considering it defending the player. More like just putting the facts out there and letting them stand on their own merit.

He's definitely a #2. How do you know the Flyers aren't doing everything they can to sign him? If you follow the UFA market, it is not just based in supply and demand. There is far more that goes into what a player is paid. Market value is set by what players of previous ability have earned. Teams competing with each other is certainly part of it. But is not as simple as Supply and demand.

Karlsson, Wideman, Edler, Campbell, Weber, Phaneuf, Suter, Timonen, Bieksa, Yandle, Streit, Chara, Keith, and Boyle are all ahead of Carle.

Carle is tied with Gonchar, Lidstrom, Del Zotto in points.

Carle is a good defenseman so to expect him to sign cheap would be ridiculous bc a young NHL defenseman are at a high premium. Im not a huge Carle fan but if were going by points hes right up their with some good players.
