Grossman may be expensive and thats even if Dallas falls out of the playoff race. That team is just getting healthy so I would assume their going to try and make a push (only two points out). |

Did a quick back read scan. Surprised not to see any chatter about the Dominic Moore hit on Fedetenko last night. That to me should be an automatic 10 games. And what the Seravalli was the back official watching to only hand out a 2 min. minor for roughing on that play? Donkey clowns.

Ouch. Is it just me or has officiating just been terrible league wide this year? |

Souray just went down (again) last night and Morrow remains out with a neck/shoulder injury. I'm not liking their chances of putting together a successful push for the playoffs this year. They've been in a one-step-forward-one-step-back holding pattern for awhile now.
The Stars have been trying to negotiate an extension with Grossman. If they can't get it done, I do think he'll be moved at the deadline and would be a nice fit with Carle if he were to come here.

Bill, what are the chances that we could get both gill and grossman? Would it be enough to give us a shot

i dont think we do anything at the deadline, i dont see any upgrades over what we have..
im the first to say our d needs overhauled, but it wont be addressed till summer imo.
luke schenn is okay, but not worth jvr...schenn showed me nothing last night and jvr is still very young and has had health issues this year and will be a force once he gets back on the horse.
not interested in gill, jack johnson....nobody gets my attention execept for weber/suter, so unless we can get 1 of those i hope we stay put. |

Fedetenko won't be able to score the empty net goal tomorrow. |

My take on Rumors:
IMO I think acquiring some young defenseman is important. Either Johnson or Schenn, or Both. The reason is our defense is getting older, and no-one other then Timonen is stepping up. And next season is Timonen's last, so some kind of youthful replacements have to be in place.
We are covered on goalies. And we have a lot of offensive depth. We can trade some offense to fill our defense. Economically speaking, it is cheaper and easier to sign forwards to fill gaps then it is defenseman.
I think the Flyers should Consider trading for both, and if not trade for one and try and get Gill. |

i wouldn't give up more than a quarter for gill at this point. old, slow, plays against crappy competition, and mtl still gives up a ton of shots when he's out there. |

Didnt know Souray got hurt last night. I still think they have a legit chance at making the playoffs. They have two games in hand to Phoenix and only trail by two points. Morrow is suppose to be back this weekend (unless the reports are wrong). If Grossman becomes available it would be a nice add for the Flyers. You would definately know more than me about the Stars cause you cover them but I still think with a healthy Benn that team is going to make the playoffs. What kind of deal is Grossman looking for from Dallas (yrs/money)? |

What if you could get L.Scehnn for Voracek and MAB? Would you do it then? |

You might be right. I actually hope you are. No trade puts this team over the hump this year, might as well stand pat with the youth and picks and make a run at Suter in the summer. Johnson is a nice PP player, but he's a specialist. He would improve the PP, but he wouldn't help the Flyers shortcomings when it comes to defensive zone coverage. |

I know there is noway the Flyers could get him but I would love for them to try and acquire Yandle from Phoenix. He is a big guy who could fill the shoes of a number one guy. This would take some creativity over the summer but I wish their was a way to get him. I would put this possibility at about 0-5%. |

Depends on where Carle is at money wise but I would not be opposed to two trades for young D men if the prices are right. That said they sound nowhere near a fair price on L Schenn. I'd be ok with JJ for a 1st and prospect as long as we're not talking about Voracek or Coots or the like as the prospect.
Honestly I think they should grab JJ now if that's the price then after the season see where Carle is at. Try to get him back under at a fair price if not start looking elsewhere |

I've never been a Rusty fan, but that was just a ridonkulous move on Moore's part. I know he's not known as a dirty player, but Shanahan needs to send a message here. Anything less than 10 games for that is weak imo.
Bourque got 5 games for his nonsense on Backstrom and NB still hasn't played a game since. It has affected the whole Caps team. |

I still think we need 2 d men and a vet scoring winger. Just too many rookies. I love the youth and talent. Just think 8 rookies is way too much for this and next year. |

With Carle leaving, and Timonen only has 1 year left... Flyers are in need of a puck mover, and someone young that doesnt cost too much. Johnson might be a good fit here, especially if he could learn from someone like Timonen. |

I like Yandle. A lot of people seem to think he's not good in his own end, all the games I have seen him play he's been very solid overall. He's a fantastic skater, maybe the best skating d-man in the League. I think his price tag would be pretty high if he were even available. |

That was a bush league move by Moore. Who isn't that type of player. No chance he gets 10 games. I think he will get 3. |
