I see the same stupid poop is going on after every loss.
They suck, they're horrible, time to rebuild, get Weber, whaa(frank)ingwhaaa.
Right now, the Rangers are a better team. So is Boston. Possibly Pittsburgh, if Crosby can return.
It's not about one guy or two guys stepping up, it's team wide. You have a bunch of rookies still learning how to play over the course of a full season. You have guys who are being asked to play bigger roles and more minutes then they have been asked to before.
Rather than being complimentary guys, Carle, Meszaros and Coburn are being asked to carry lesser defensemen. Perhaps they can't handle that role, at least at this point in time.
So many people felt that they were not strong contenders this year, so why are you pissing and moaning when they lose to teams that are serious contenders? Some people in here are like insecure teenaged girls, trying to decide what dress to wear to the dance. Others are just pure D morons who are here to troll and bring nothing worth reading to the conversation or are simply here to rip the team.
This is what happens with young teams, they have growing pains. The sooner you realize that the better off you will be. - Jsaquella
Well said Jsaq.

The simple fact is the Flyers did show up today. They tried to do what they could early to goon this game up a bit and try and throw the Rangers off their game. Too bad the refs and the Rangers were too smart for that. The Flyers breakdowns in their own end was on full display. The Rangers cooly and calmly executed their game plan AGAIN. They cannot go toe to toe with this team no matter what system they play. Play defense first? Lose 3-1 like most teams in the league do to them.
The Flyers aren't as good a team, I'm sure Timonen doesn't want to discuss that. |

Gauthier being around is not that surprising....Howson is interesting. There's a player or two I wouldn't mind seeing the Flyers take a run at. Sami Pahlsson and Mark Letestu come to mind first. |

I dont think that will happen. The Flyers should win more games then they lose the rest of the season which will get them into the playoffs. The matchups will determine how far this team will go in the playoffs. |

I hear what your saying but what you add to improve this team before/at the deadline most likely wont be enough to win the cup anyways.. |

I lean towards adding young players, if possible. I don't mind a rental or two, if the price is low enough. I'm talking like a mid round pick for a solid defenseman, just to be prepared if a perfect storm happens, like in 2010, when the Habs knocked out the Pens and Caps.
But I also recognize that spending too much on one guy now is ridiculous. |

And, see, there's a PERFECT example of my analogy of a teenaged girl, not knowing what to wear to the dance. If I had 3 hours and the most deluxe version of Photoshop, I couldn't have provided a better example of an indecisive child as one of our friends has.
Even better, it's combined with an example of the moronic trolling that brings NOTHING to the board in terms of hockey conversation. BRAVO |

Wow. Those are some sobering pictures. D-Zone coverage reminiscent of something you would see in pee wee hockey or a beer league. No excuse for this type of garbage 50+ games into an NHL season regardless of youth or anything else. Simply inexcusable.
Sure, the Flyers aren't as good as the Bruins or the Rangers, that is all well and good. Still doesn't make it ok to lose 7 straight games to those two teams. Nevermind the Rangers and Bruins, there have been 5 home losses to the Islanders, Jets, and Hurricanes. What is the reason for that? Having a losing record at home is unacceptable. Shouldn't happen. Laviolette was specifically asked what the reason was for this, his response; "I don't have an answer". Well he better start finding some answers. Perhaps he should look at the discipline and the PK at home to start with. - PLindbergh31
Fundamentals, start there. There is no reason for players being left wide open in front of the net. I dont understand why this continues to happen when its hockey 101. |

I don't think anybody is even hinting that losing that many straight to the Bruins and Rangers is OK. Just don't see what good the constant non stop female doging does anybody. |

it does zero good. I'm just trying to figure out why the struggles at home continue. I'm fully aware that the Flyers aren't as good as the Bruins or Rangers for a variety of reasons. I have come to grips with it. |

Me to. I have to accept the fact that the Flyers are not as good as the Rags and Bruins, as much as that hurts me to say. I have no more answers. Im sure Lavi has tried different things and nothing seems to work. |

The fans have a right to vent. 7 straight to the rangers is bullpoop. I don't care what the circumstances are. Lava having no answers is basically saying the players aren't good enough to execute against the rangers. Well where does that leave us? Who knows. Don't think a suter can solve these issues. At least the rangers had dmen a plenty in their pipeline a couple years ago. And who is going to give us our McDonough for our Briere/Gomez? |

There's a lot of factors. I would agree with coaching being an issue, because Laviolette has had me scratching my head with some of the matchups he's gotten at home, when he has last change.
But it is more than that-look at the screen shot when it's 2-2. Kimmo Timonen is in no man's land and there's two Rangers in Bob's crease. That's not coaching, it's not rookies and it's not good fundamentals. We can cut Timonen some slack, but that's a bad play. |

I'm not even venting really, just trying to analyze and figure out the reasons why this team is very good on the road, while struggling mightily at home. It doesn't make sense to me. |
