I have a problem with it, especially if he's going to be a spectator on the ice when the game winning goal is scored against the Flyers.

Not sure if you'll see this given that there is a new thread, but I don't see how Kimmo was a spectator on the Franzen goal. He's battling along the wall, gets no help, and the puck goes to the point. In about a second it goes to Lidstrom to Franzen for the goal. Looked to me like Talbot should have had one of either Lidstrom or Franzen there. He's the center and should be covering the front of the net. There's no way anyone was going to get from the side boards to Franzen in time to keep him from making that play. I just watched the replay again and that's the way it looks to me anyway.
Again I think the issue on that play is that Flyers did not transition from the PK to full strength very well. Talbot was still acting like he was on the PK and playing the high slot/point. We didn't get back into our 5 on 5 defense fast enough to cover everyone, and the Wings took advantage. I just don't see how you call out Timonen on that play. Granted, he did not break to the front of the net immediately after he lost the puck battle, but I don't think it really mattered. The puck was in the net about two seconds after that battle was lost.
Oh well, they'll live to fight another day. I think this level of play is about where I expected the team to be this season anyway. Being competitive, but not consistently beating the top teams in the league. I think we are a year or two away from that level. At least I hope we are.
