Joey MacDonald will get the start in goal against the Flyers on Sunday. He has played exceptionally well in place of the injured Jimmy Howard. Howard is due back soon, so the Wings will have an interesting decision to make concerning their backup netminder. Do they give MacDonald the chance and move or demote Ty Conklin or do they send MacDonald back to the AHL. Stay tuned.

Am I really reading this elementary schoolyard— JVR is faking a concussion poop? You guys need to grow up or something man. JVR is a good kid. Before the conky he had an abdominal tear and a hip impingement two nasty injuries that, if you ask me should have had him sidelined to begin with. Oh so he suddenly decides to read on hockey buzz that he might get traded? I usually try to ignore this poop but you guys gotta stop. Notions like this should have you evaluated to be committed and I worked in a field involving such things for 7 years so yes_ that is a serious professional opinion. |

The best thing to do is ignore it Joe. A top local analyst tried to explain it. It fell on death ears. Nothing anyone else says is going to be convincing enough. So why waste any further time? |

Right, don't give the referee a chance to make the call. Sestitio, regardless of how weak of a whack it was on Lunqvist, caused the altercation. The Rangers are going to protect the goalie there. It's a dumb play by Sestito. But instigators such as Sestitio, Rinaldo, Hartnell, etc. It's live by the sword, die by the sword. - MJL
Ah, that's BS... If you don't rush the net and let Lunqvist and the defenders know that your there - you might as well move the franchise to Atlanta. Sestito was going to the net. If he didn't he'd be labeled as soft. Sure, he got there late but he held up and didn't do anything worthy of a penalty. It is something that happens all the time. I can live with the call, but the ranger over reacted (which I'm not saying is a bad thing from the Rangers point of view). The ref should have picked up on the over-action and equaled it out. But, no the Flyers get the extra 2. Normally, this poop doesn't bother me to much - but, it was a BS call. In a 0-0 hard fought game, it was inexcusable call by the ref. I was interested in watching a good game. But, it seemed the Flyers gave up when they realize it was them versus Ranger and the refs. ps. I didn't watch the whole game - to pissed off. |

Uh it just gets old sifting through almost 2pages of this stuff. Let me one take one more stab at this and I'm done.
The guy is 22 years old, was coming off a fantastic performance in the playoffs where he managed to rack up 7 goals in 11 games against two of the best goalies in the league one with the best defenseman, comes into this season is on pace for 30+ goal season until he tears an abdominal muscle.
Then he has a hip impingement continues playing despite being visibly in pain. All of a sudden his name pops up in a hockey buzz rumor- no offense Mr. Eklund— I enjoy reading your blogs but sometimes am left shaking my head saying wtf— anyway so after reading the blog by Eklund he decides to fake an injury so he can avoid being traded. As if he can't be traded in the offseason. As if his contract that just got extended will take him until he is 40 y/o. GIVE ME A BREAK! IF he is faking this injury that will screw him so bad and be the end of his career come 2018 which incase you guys didn't know will put him at the prime of his career. So in order to avoid taking his NHL lumps he's going to kiss what?—50 to 100 million dollars between the time he is 28 and 40 y/o goodbye? |

JVR goes nowhere. You don't trade a young power forward who was on track to be a consistent 70 pt a year player, for a depth defensive defenseman (Schenn). I don't care what picks are coming back. I'm back to where I was in September/October. Chalk this year up as experience for the rookies. Keep building towards the future.
Sutton resigned. Gill/Allen these types of dmen will minimally cost a 2nd, the list is growing shorter. I'm not ready to concede that. |

Sestito whacked at Lundqvists pads. I was initially upset with the call but once I saw the replay I agree with the refs. Flyers clearly trying to goon the game up to try to rattle the Rangers somehow. Refs made the calls they made to corrall the game. And they did. |

It's true. JVR and bryz were seen rooming together an my source tells me that JVR has been constantly banging his head on every hard surface he could find. And bryz had voodoo dolls of tje entire D and of bob and was responsible for them all being out of position.
Of course i forgot thats an E4.

Blaming the referees is having a loser mentality. Bad calls happen all the time for every team, if you want to be an elite team you have to overcome it. Just because the referees made some questionable calls, does it mean the Rangers have to score 3 uncontested PP goals? Right now the Rangers are better in every facet of that game from soup to nuts. That's the bottom line. |

I'm not even chalking this year up yet. How many times have we seen the flyers own teams in the regular season then get bounced by same team/teams in the Playoffs. This team is missing something that is the true essence of team sports— cohesion. That is why a big trade isn't going to make all that much difference. If homer can get a stop gap d-man at the deadline and a forward to help on that god-awful PK then by all means do it. I would much rather see Giroux replaced on the PK right now just for the sake of not wearing him down. |
