if they are trying the flat out suck and it's time to move them - 2Real
Well all I can say is that Mez, Coburn, and Carle are definately trying when their out on the ice. I dont know if moving them now is going to help this team. In the offseason Homer will make the upgrades needed for this team to be more successful in his eyes. |

Right. Lets get rid of our (somewhat) young defensive core because they're paired with rookies and you're frustrated they make mistakes. Ridiculous. |

Spot on Joe. Boucher was plenty good enough in that 2000 ECF for the Flyers to win. The difference was Stevens, Neidermayer, and Daneyko. In games 5, 6, and 7 the Flyers scored a grand total of 3 goals. Not going to get it done. I think the Devils have only won 2 playoff series since Stevens. Neidermayer, and Daneyko have been gone. They were the difference in those series with the Flyers, not Brodeur. - PLindbergh31
I just wish Flyer nation would realize, trades, finger pointing etc are not what needs to be done right now. It's about this team to a man playing within the system— that's what I got out of Kimmo's remarks yesterday. This is as good a Flyer roster as I have seen in a long time. There's no awful players, fakers or bums on this team as it sits. It's a bunch of guys that need to buy into the system and stop trying to do too much. Stevens, Nierdermayer, and Daneyko they bought into their roles/system. Do we have those type of players right now- i'm not sure. But we have a group of guys with plenty of ability. However to me the difference between them and the rangers is the Rangers play the system and let the chips fall where they may.
If the Flyers could eliminate just leaving the other team's sniper all alone to the goalie's back side then they could have won two games right now against the rangers. The classic and yesterday are perfect examples. That one simple nuance is what makes this a 5-0 series imo anyway. |

Thought maybe they would be alittle tired from yesterdays game against Philly. Two afternoon games on back to back days. |

Yup. I'm with you. Pairing Carle with Bourdon and Mesz with Gusty is dragging them all down, but we don't really have any other options atm. And I definitely wish Coburn played with more of an edge ala Hatcher, Pronger, etc. |

In the locker room, yes. On camera is a different animal.

I feel like the status quo fpr the flyers has been jumping the gun too early on a trade. It seems like they're in a win now mentality (not that its a bad thing) all the time. Especially if they're trying to please the fanbase. It just seems like they're pressing and trying to force a cup to jappen. Personally i hope thwy stand pat and let these guys take their bruises together. But i totally agree about tjem all needing to buy into the system. |

We will see what happens in the third period when heavy legs may become a factor. I suspect the Rags will have put the game away by then. |

it's not that, it's that we don't refer to Philly hockey fans as "flyer nation". that's terminology reserved for guys like colin cowturd. |

I didn't agree with a lot of what Timonen had to say yesterday. I think the effort was there, that wasn't an issue imo. People have to realize that these players are talking to the media 15-20 mins after a tough loss. They are speaking out of frustration. Not to mention I'm sure most players on the team despise dealing with majority of the Philly media. |

After yesterday's game and tonight's impending loss to Detroit, i am starting to get a little worried that we may be fighting for a 5-8 and a playoff spot rather than a 1-4.
To me it really comes down to this, we can't beat the top teams as currenlty constructed with the injuries etc. Homer will have to decide to upgrade the D and go for it or mail it in with a probably 1st or 2nd round loss. If the cost is too high to upgrade, then we should wait til the summer, try to fix this and then go for it next year or the year after. |

It looks to me like a clear elbow to the jaw. Potvin (?) called it "embellishment" and "acting". Clearly JvR was affected by the hit. Whether that's what caused his problems, or was a contributing factor, who knows? - 77rams
I love how they don't even acknowledge JVR is down until half way or closer to the end of the clip.

I think it was Jsaquella who said it a few pages back, that coming into this year they set themselves up to win now if things fell in place for them like 2010 but with all the rookies and new faces Homer and Snider had to know this year was a stretch. I personally still believe they can win but they have to buy into the system.
Before going out with the flu, Bryz put in a nice stretch over his previous 8 games. If he can keep going at that pace the rest of the year, maybe it gets the guys up front to settle down and stop trying to pounce on the puck at risk of a fatal breakdown. Okay so he sucks in the shootout, so did this team waaaay before he came to town but it matters not in the playoffs. I just feel like watching this team they are like the baseball team that tries to hit a homerun at every at bat. Settle down do the simple things and results will happen, that's precisely what the rangers are doing. Their goalie is just icing on the cake otherwise he'd have a ring and a Vezina in the trophy case already. |

# 6 seed and a first round matchup with Florida or Washington would be ideal. Better than finishing fourth or fifth and having to deal with a Penguins team that may have Crosby back. |

The team allows players time to collect their thoughts before addressing the media. Kimmo is a vet. He knows better than to let his frustration get the best of him with the lights on. |
