I just mean it's always a gamble when you make a trade or sign a FA. You gamble on players , hope they work out so the GM looks smart. We need to get in or this is another "Freddie Fender" season - "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights"

EDIT: i don't mind bb getting into the market right now, but not at the cost of our future. a backup goalie at this time in the season will definitely do that.

i'd rather we don't gamble. i personally love where our team is headed. they're just young.....inconsistency is their MO.

I just don't think Reimer or Monster will ever be the #1 solution. Right now we have a team that is competing, I would hate to see us waste more time hoping for one of these guys to carry us into and hopefully deep into the playoffs.

I'm with you, Reimer last season was the worst thing that could have happened for them. Gave Burke false sense of goalie security.

Maybe we could have signed Bryz to the mammoth contract if not for Reims.

even in the offseason...a good backup would've cost you a kuli, or grabo, or mac. that's still to hefty a price to pay for a 1-2yr stop gap.

this team is built young with talent from the net out...i don't mind watching them mature together. they'll get better with more games....consistency always comes with repetition.

i think reimer is too young for you to make that statement. monster is a different story.

with that said, we're not supposed to go deep into the playoffs this year, we're just supposed to make it. with the team we have....i think that can be done - even with mediocre goaltending.

I would do Kadri/Kulemin even and I would hate to see Kulemin go.

I honestly think the leafs should go after the best young goalie they can get at their spot in the draft, i really do, i know you are all going to say you need a center but goalies take much longer to be developed and you should be after a stud young goalie, now.

it doesn't matter what he wants. the nyi have gotten themselves back into the playoff hunt and have been significantly better of late - all on nabokov's play....that in and of itself is enough to jack up the price.
