cammy has had a tough couple seasons....no denying that, but he's far and above more talented than bourque. in the long run, it won't even be close. - Pen15
Yup now subtract about 4 million a season with similar stats, plus effort and size which the habs needed badly. |

who said bourque gives effort? his MO in calgary was showing up when he wanted to.
don't let a 5-10 game streak skew the reality. cammy is by far the superior player....his career stats prove that. |

i'd still take gus/reims of the goalies that are actually available there at a reasonable price.....
sure...i'll take tim thomas...but in reality he's not available...and if he was, he'd cost a poopload more than what you'd like to believe. - Pen15
I doubt Backstrom makes that much again. Quick will get a raise for sure, but who knows how high. Lehtonen is a good goalie. |

Doesn't matter. Cammy was being overpaid for his production, so Bourque's contract has better value. Also, Cammy was another small forward on a team full of them. It's not like the Habs gave up anything to get Cammy, so in reality they cleared cap space and got Bourque in return. |

at least he showed up sometimes that at least is a step up from cammy, now you can get your kicks in if you think your right, cammy is the more talented player, no doubt, not like he is tearing it up on calgary now is he? How far apart are his and Bourques stats again? Bourque made the habs bigger up front as well. |

4 million worth. Somehow this gets lost in leaf fans minds, cause they need it to in their hearts to believe the habs got rolled, and they didnt. |

why don't you name a couple guys you think can be had on that list...and provide a price you think would be reasonable.... - Pen15
Why? i left that up to you leaf fans, let me know when the habs need a goalie. |

Hard to believe that people think that the Habs were robbed in that deal. |

bourque will do the same in montreal as he did in calgary...just watch.
at least cammy has shown he can put up numbers when he wants to. i'm confident you'll see a different player next season. don't ask me to quantify that...it's just a feeling. guys with that skill level don't usually stay down for long. |

4.5 for Backstrom would be very reasonable. |

because you're claiming the market for a decent backup goaltender at the trade deadline isn't that large....
i'd like you to quantify the 'not that large' part.
for example....what would nabokov take? |

agree, they didn't. But that deal was all about term. Money is about the same actually, however, after 2 seasons, the Flames can either let Cami walk or bring him back at Ollie money if can doesn't see 30g again.
The habs are stuck with Bourque for 4 more years... 2 years is enough to have you go bald, can't imagine having to watch him for 4. |

in the long run, they were.
had they not REACTED to cammy's comments, they could've driven up his price and traded him at the deadline for way more than bourque.
keep in mind, cammy can be sold on the belief he's a great playoff performer. |

Bryz for Tavares... - Flyfreaky
Please do not give Garth Snow any ideas. I feel bad Tavares is stuck with these idiots. How he signed for 6 years I'll never know. |

that's more believable than bourque who has never had an 80pt season. |
