I would let Carle walk. Too many weaknesses in his game, if they are going to spend 5 million on him, might as well spend 6.5 on Suter.

I'm tired of watching Carle's shot from the point get blocked.

My two eyes are the evidence. I see soft as a marshmallow play from him constantly. Everyone all year has said the d-core has been awful, well you already have Meszaros and Coburn locked up, does it make sense to lock up another guy who has been part of the defensive struggles?

Carle has been very good all year, and is right up there with Timonen as far as being the top defenseman on this team. Carle has not been part of the team's defensive struggles.

If its a possibility I am all for it. Doesn't hurt to make a phone call and find out. I just dont see Phoenix wanting to give Yandle up (his contract is good). He is a top pairing defenseman who is very underrated.

If it's between 5 for Carle and 7 for Suter I'll gladly go for Suter. 3-4 guys shouldn't be making 5 mil, especially when we already have Mezzy and Coburn. No need to pay that much for Carle.

What makes Carle a 3-4 defenseman?

All I will say is this...Bobrovsky got lit up playing against two top teams in the league and his defense had alot to do with it. He is no better than Bryzgalov in net when the defense doesnt do their job. So I think its time we cut alittle slack on the goalies bc the defensive zone coverage is horrible. You cant make saves when your constantly leaving guys open in scoring areas. Crazy.

If they can add Suter and another defensive defenseman the Flyers will be just fine. Letting Carle walk is all that really needs to be done. If the Flyers arent happy with Mez or Coburn then they can trade one if they wish.
