They had that until ll the injuries. Once healthy, I think they will revamp the 4th line. I hope anyway ha - funmaster18
yes I hope that is the case, I remember loving the Cooter/HarryZ on the 4th line |

yes so did I but I guess Lava and company don't see HarryZ as that guy anymore. I liked his energy and hustle.

carchidi goes on IP and says we really need a guy like L Schenn and figures we would have to part w/ a 1st, 2nd & a 3rd because JVR was no longer a trade chip. no comment on why TOR would make that deal or whether this is reasonable compensation. no, they went into a commentary about conklins bryz imitation... |

Trading any young player for a playoff rental would be dumb. I would like to see them build their own team with their own young players for once, rather then patch holes every year. |

It's truly amazing how well the Carter/Richards trades are working out.
Funny thing is I think it would have made more sense for Richards to go the CLB and Carter to go LA looking at those two teams needs.

yes
might be tough to do that on defense with really no blue chip young dmen in the pipeline but hopefully they draft one or two this draft.
I would hate to lose any of the young forwards but if they did a very good young dman in return I could understand that move.

I don't think Holmgren does anything drastic. They do need a veteran defenseman who can kill penalties and help steady things.
And maybe a veteran checking forward.
But I dont want to see any humongous big moves or anything like that.
In the mean time we will all sit back and watch a small minority of us go all Simple Jack for the next three days.

Yes, have no problem trading guys at one position to help another if it's a long term solution. Just don't give anyone away for UFAs. |

Not sure if you recall, but they have (big) issues EVERY year around February. This year it is a young team. Last year it was... - GoFlyersGoSlovakia[fill in the blank]. The year before that something else.
Apart form yesterday, 3 other weekend games it was clear that they were losing before the 3rd period has started or very soon after.
BTW, I'd say that 6-0 after 2 periods IS taking time off. Ok, that was just one game.
4th place in the conference gets old too. We are tied with Pens, the Devils are right behind us. As Bill said, we are closer to the bottom than we are to the top. And heading in the opposite direction. That is simply stating facts. There is very little Homer can do at this point. The chips will fall where they want to regardless of your optimism or my female doging. And most people are realistic enough to realize that the odds of winning this year are not very good. AGAIN. So really, it is the same every year.
Big issues in previous years are irrelevant to this year. They have 14 new guys this year, counting the rookies. What happened in past years was happening to another team. |

I believe this team has enough talent to go deep in the playoffs and we don't need a savior. They just have to play better as a team. Some help is welcome of course, but the team as it currently hands will have to get themselves back to playing good, consistent hockey. |

Having Couturier on the 4th line this year has been a blessing. It's given Lavy the opportunity to roll with four lines, and break Sean into the league slowly.
He obviously deserves a regular top-9 role heading into next season.
As for the 4th line next year, I agree that the Flyers need to bring in another center who can play the 4th line effectively, win face-offs and play on the PK. Giroux cannot continue to play this many minutes on special teams. He needs protection. |

Maybe he does but nobody can tell because they can't speak Russian.
Or
Bob won't learn english so he won't get traded. Or he did get traded but he couldn't understand Homer so PH gave up and stopped said trade. - bird_dog
