So what kind of contract could you forsee the Devils and Parise agreeing on?

He is getting paid 6M this year and that is after an injury shortened year..

what would you think? 6 year 42M? 7M a year?

Alright, here is my Flyers State of the Union address that I promised you:

This edition of the Flyers is a B/C list team at best...They will occasionally beat an A list team, but for the most part, are the bridesmaid and not the bride...

Goaltending: C+ (the Bryz experiment's not looking very good)
Defense: C (Pronger's absence is killing them)
Offense: B (better than advertised)
Coaching: B (I like Lavy)
Management: N/A until trade deadline has passed
Team Grade: C+

Let me see your team's State of the Union address...

I was going to say that if the Islanders want to move Okposo that Hamilton would have to be part of the deal since Okposo just signed an extension. But if he is off-limits, what do the B's have to offer? I am not too familiar with their prospects
- the ceez

I'd say there are 3 top level forward propects behind Hamilton: Knight, Spooner, Kohkhlachev. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of those 3 moved in the right deal. Caron could maybe be grouped in there too. Then there's Kampfer, Sauve, Arneil, Warsofsky, Chudinov who are I'd say the next level from my understanding.

Chudinov actually might be an interesting piece and a good fit if you guys are looking for D. He's logging huge minutes in the K, it appears as though he slipped in the draft a bit due to the Russia factor, but right now he looks very promising. His production over there is pretty impressive. Not a big guy, but plays a physical game and has some offensive upside.

the Bruins have been linked to Whitney for weeks and Chairelli even said he "drools of the prospect of having him in the Bruins lineup" yet you say Smyth and Jason, soft as poop Blake.

Pay attention if you're going to talk complete nonsense.

whats the deal with Boston and concussions..

Savard, Bergeron, and now Horton...

Didn't they have a d-man get a concussion last year and that is why they traded for Kaberle?

- MillerTime1130

good question about the concussions. just bad luck. as far as the D we just wanted someone to move the puck out of end and quarterback the power play. 2 big needs we had and somehow still did well given kaberle did not provide either.

I will be very intrigued on how they are gonna pull it off...

Poni's 1.5M off the books
R. Carter .75
Sykora .65
Janssen .525
Mills .525
Bernier .525
Salvador 2.9
Foster 1.8
Brodeur 5.2
Hedberg 1.25

only 3.78M in cap space now...

If they somehow are able to sign Parise.. the rest of their roster is gonna be scarce.. Kovy, Elias, Parise, Zajc, Zubrus, Volchenkov, Tallinder, and Greene will account for 36M

the supposed loan that they havent been paid off is also rumored to be the loan the devils have with the city of newark, one in which JVB has been very stubborn with due to the fact the city hasnt kept their side of the deal with the promises made

and everything has came out of the NY Post which everyone knows ek has a better chance getting a trade 100% correct then the post being accurate, i mean their story changes from week to week, they dont include anything they have said previously, and have been told facts and had to correct their reporting numerous times

until something happens i am not going to have any faith in what the post reports

Nothing EK says about the Leafs will happen.

I am not sure who the "Most" is that you refer to, but from what "MOST" people are saying publicly (FAN 590, TSN, etc), the Leafs are just as likely to do nothing.

There is no "bigger deal in the works". I'd be willing to bet the Leafs stand pat and ride with what they got.

He's not terrible. He's lazy and unmotivated. There's a difference. He's got a ton of talent and if somebody can light a fire under his ass, I think it can come back.

He's made $4.5 mill. a season on his current deal. He sure as hell won't be getting that this summer. A move from LA to a team looking to make a playoff run might be his best chance to salvage his career and make himself attractive to teams this summer.

- Urethra Franklin

The problem ... he is playing for a play-off type team right now. If Toronto is looking for a play-off run - what do you call LA? IMO, LA is better than Toronto.

This isn't his first lazy year. He has been lazy and uninspired since he was traded to LA. Heck, he was uninspired prior to the trade to LA. I believe a change in venue can due wonders. However, he has blown his change of venue to LA, so ...

I guess Hamilton being off limits is my opinion, so maybe they would deal him. But I do hear a lot from the media that people expect Hamilton to seriously contend for a roster spot next season.

Hamilton would be their top tier prospect and then everyone else is pretty much below that. Caron, Kampfer, Hamill have NHL games but honestly they look like players who would do well in the AHL but just look out of place in the NHL. The Islanders are my 2nd favorite team so naturally I like Okposo but I think the Bruins need Hamilton more, the Bruins do not have much defense below the NHL. If I were to ask for Okposo.....I would say I would stop at one of those 2nd tier prospects and a 3rd or 4th rounder for a guy with 12g. Definitely an improvement over our current
fill-ins for sure. Response?

and brodeur will take a discount, or any goalie we will sign wont be making 5.2 or more than that..........its just a .500 more cap space used on parise, its not an issue
