For people that follow this stuff more, what is the real possibility that there will actually be some sort of amnesty thing at the beginning of the next CBA? - eayost
There's a lot of talk about the League wanting to reduce the players share to around the 50% mark. If that happens, the Cap is going to go down. And there will need to be a mechanism for teams that are already over the Cap, to get compliant.
I don't want a trade for Nash. He does very little to improve the team, and depending on what was given up an argument came be made the Flyers could be worse. I doubt he is even on the Flyers radar. - PLindbergh31
Adding a player who has 50 goal ability wouldn't improve the team? And I'm not saying they should do it. But he obviously would improve the team. The Cap ramifications are the issue.
I am starting a Paramedic course in september, a tad early for this question but the decision has to be made early.
There are a few places in the states such as Grand Forks, Florida and California where my practicum/hands on could be taken.
Would Florida and Cali be good choices or too crazy? - flyer_nutter
your choices are north dakota, florida or california, whew! CA expensive, land of the fruit and nut. ND, your coming from manitoba, do you really want to relive the manitoba experience. that leaves FL, if you go to FL try to go to the tampa area, that's the most level headed part of florida that doesn't suffer from the extremes of the other parts of the state. remember, english is the 2nd language of florida.
Just because Carle plays (ed) with Pronger, doesnt mean he is a #1 d-man. That is being shown.
I worry about that with Weber and Suter.
Love the location btw. - flyer_nutter
How is it exactly like Carle/Pronger? I don't think anyone ever thought that Carle was a #1 defenseman. But Carle is clearly showing how good he really is and that anyone who felt that Carle was only being made to look good because he was playing with Pronger, was full of it.
People shouldnt be afraid to mention his name negatively on here. You wont get struck down by lightning. - flyer_nutter
But why would anyone mention his name negatively when his quality of play is over whemingly positive unless someone is either biased towards him, or just don't know what they were looking at.

So essentially the same thing as before the last CBA. Getting the players share down further will be a tough pill for them to swallow after just 6 or whatever number of years its been.
People can say the two players are close until they are blue in the face, it doesn't make it true. - PLindbergh31
And vice versa, it doesn't make it true when people say they aren't close. Especially when they can't back it up that they aren't close. There was an article posted yesterday that showed just how close they are.

The players are going to want something in return. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the 12/13 Season was a shortened one.

I wouldn't call it smack, I'd call it something else. No player is perfect and neither is Carle, as we saw with his poor turnover in the Devils game. But overall, he's a very good player. He's not in the top echelon, but certainly in that next group. There's no doubt about it.

I agree and find it funny when people make it sound as if he's an ahler.

Because people are stupid. If you dare to defend a player against unfair criticism, you're obviously a deluded fanboy.

If one uses Corsi and other advanced stats, Carle was actually a more effective performer last season when Pronger didn't play. The same has been true this year. Carle, like just about everyone else on the team isn't playing very well since the break.
But when Carle makes a mistake, the whips come out. Fair or unfair, he's a whipping boy and scapegoat. When he makes a mistake, his lack of a booming shot and lack of physicality gets mentioned-even when the mistake or poor play has little to do with those two parts of his game.
