not on the powerplay?? - Slammed81
The Rangers powerplay only recently started clicking, it's been miserable. Most of his points have been generated at even strength. |

You are basing his reputation off what? The biased media in Columbus who are trying to tout someone as a star player? Go watch the games then...how many CBJ have you watched in the last 2-3 years? - flyers20032002
No one is saying Nash isn't a great player. It is simply that he is not worth 7.8 million per year, nor does it make any sense for the Flyers to take on such a contract. |

Nothing to do with the Media. I've watched enough of Nash to know that your claims are unsubstantiated. - MJL

Exactly. If Nash's cap hit was not so overpriced, I'd be 100% in board with bringing him in, but Columbus gave him a monster deal and to me that makes him extremely unappealing. - Flyers2821
7.8M for a guy who has never hit the 80 point plateau? I will give Nash alittle credit as Columbus is dreadful and he plays with zero talent around him. You would think with some quality players and a winning atmosphere his numbers could grow. |

They would grow, but not to the level of 7.8 million per year in my opinion. |

I have, no doubt about it. I'm not going to invent things about a player as I go along.

not counting this year cause it aint over Nash has scored 31 goals 6 out of the 8 season in the league over 35 in 3 season and 40 twice the guy can put the puck in the net imagine with giroux yikes in saying that 7.8 is too much for my blood but imo u cant say gaborik is way better or nash isnt on the same level |

Just a few thoughts on Nash
He's got the talent of a top winger. He's been hurt by the dreadful way that Columbus has been run, the lack of talent around him and the seemingly endless series of coaches there.
I have seen games where he looks dynamic and I have seen games where he looks like he'd rather be grooming a poodle. I feel a lot of the swings would be gone if he was on a team that had a plan or at least made no bones about trying to win.
Repeated failure can hurt a player's pysche and compete level. I think with a change of scenery the NHL would see Nash fulfill his potential and show he's a top talent. |

I actually not sure how Howson has kept his job, he has done a terrible job of building that roster, Nash needs an Adam Oates type center to play with him.

Imagine if he wasn't lazy or didn't take shifts off what he could do.

Gaborik has had an injury ridden career masking his talent. He has better numbers than Nash and played in a similar environment with the wild. Go check the numbers and get back to me. - flyers20032002
gabby usually has had health issues and Nash is an all situations plyr. |

Do you give up top tier talent to take on his 7.8 mil a year contract and hope he reaches that level? |

I didn't say that, I said gaborik is the better player. I did not say Gaborik is WAY better than Nash. No one is saying Nash can't score. Jeff Carter can score too, where is he again?

I like Nash alot and think he could be a great player if he ever played for a winning team with talent. I just dont know if the Flyers would want to take on that cap hit. Im more concerned with upgrading the defense. Scoring hasnt been the problem with Philly, its stopping the opposition from scoring. |

The cap hit is a huge issue. It can be made to work, but it would take a lot of tough decisions. With the issues with team defense, I would probably no add him at this time if I were Holmgren.
Now if I was the Kings, I'd be beating on Howson's door. |

I think getting an ELITE winger on Girouxs wing will have a trickle down affect on the entire team. While I do not agree with Nash being that guy because of his cap hit, I would be 100% on board with them trading for a legit goal scoring winger to play with Giroux for the next 5 years.
I mean lets face it, even if they snag a big name d-man they aren't gonna win the cup this year with Boston and the Rangers playing the way they are this year. This team is still growing and to give G a legit proven winger to continue to grow with would be a tremendous thing for this teams future. |
