If im the Hawks this is what I offer:
To Hawks : Rick Nash
To Columbus : Patrick Sharp + Sadd, Pirri and or McNeil + (2) 1st rd picks.
The reasoning is, the Sharpy for Nash falls in our favor as far as players matching up. The draft picks are crap shoots and from what they said this year's Draft is DEEP!!! the Jackets are essentially getting 2 other 1st rd picks in Sadd & McNeil. Pirri to me is a throw in bc he's been with us for how long and hasn't cracked the lineup and been stuck in "The Rock."
C'mon Nash'r I'd love you in the Indian Head |

That honestly doesn't say much. - Lahey
I'm not here to say what Chicago, LA or Columbus should do (well, I have strong opinions on Chicago and Columbus in general).
My sense of the Nash thing is if the L.A. deal is dead or not true, the Hawks have put forth a very good offer that would help both teams now and in the future.
Columbus would become more balanced, minus a superstar but adding two solid players who would fill significant holes they have. The Hawks would add a superstar 1st line LW and fill another hole.
I also believe the Hawks would definitely be making another deal very soon if Columbus accepted their offer.
I also believe the Hawks offer could be just a starting point, and I doubt I will hear more. |

JJ, if they end up with Nash.. Does that put the Tampa Bay trade on hold, void, or still a go? |

Agree this is nuts. But I've never seen anything from Carter that made me wish he was a Hawk. I'm talking about on the ice, not his stats. Granted, I don't see as much of the Eastern Conference as I'd like.

Doing the math . . . if Columbus accepted the Hawks offer. The Hawks would not be done.
They would need to make another trade, leading me to believe they are very confident they could land 1-2 more very good players in a separate deal (or deals).
These would be pretty big changes. |

See my post above. If Columbus accepted what I am told is the Hawks offer, the Hawks would almost certainly make 1-2 more deals. Not necessarily with Tampa, but could be.
Indicates like they have a game plan. |

Looks like yesterday's meeting could bring something good!
Hence teh lockdown - always a good thing for Hawks!
It all depends if other team(s) are willing to play/trade! |

Damn you JJ and your hockeybuzz knowledge...
Can you tell us anyone involved aside from Rick Nash and or if its the best deal available. The Kings offer w/the Penner is garbage, only team I would think that's come close is Toronto. Give us something.......I beg you! Ill love you forever? |

Columbus gonna use Hawks offer to get more elsewhere. Unless it really is head and shoulders above the rest.
Still think he does end up in L.A. though. Not sure about current deal, but will happen.
Bernier, Voynov, Penner...draft? |

Remember that Nash is giving them a list of teams he would go to so it's not like every team is bidding on him. |

Bowman is a math guy. He justed dumped Soupy's big contract why would he want to pick up another. Toews and Kane come due in three years, how would you be able to resign them without going into the 8 mill range. No player can make more than Captain Toews, much like on Detroit with Linsdrom. Bowman won't go into cap hell. This team needs a second line center and a 3-4 dman, and what about goaltending. I don't see Nash filling any of those holes. |

Exactly... He realized that he made a mistake... Free cap space means nothing unless you fill it with talent... |
