I wish we could clone Lindros, LeClair and Renberg. In today's NHL, they'd be a 150 goal line |

Plenty of good players that they could trade to save money. Wouldn't have much of a team then.

Who has the most expensive defense? - stveshdy
Interesting conversation to have but it's out to lunch to say that we have the most expensive D, refer to us as having a bad GAA and then include Pronger's cap hit. Without him, we're an 18 mil d and closer to getting what we are paying for.
Without Pronger, this isn't an elite D. It's not rocket science. |

He's sure been a non factor in the playoffs.
In the beginning of the Season it was Hartnell that was a non factor and needed to be traded, then in between some other players, and now Briere. Who will it be next month?

Can you imagine what LeClair would do in front of the net today? Players use to hold and grab the crap out of him in front, he would be a beast today. |

Doesn't matter if I've been impressed this Season. This Season isn't over yet. And 59 points in 47 playoff games as a Flyer, tells me maybe we should hang onto him just a little longer.

Have you been impressed with him leading the team in playoff scoring the past 4 years?
Guy's having an off year, so we have to ditch him? Just like people ripping Bryzgalov for having a rough go....we'll ignore the first 300 games of his very good career and focus on his struggles the past 30 or so. |

I just realized how much Mike Ilitch looks like Jackie Rogers Jr. from SCTV.

Briere will be fine. He is clutch when it matters most. |

During his career in the playoffs as a Flyer has he ever not been? I think Briere deserves some slack here. |

I'm a lot more worried about the rookies chipping in in the crunch than Briere. |

The rookies are going to make plenty of mistakes come playoff time. The game changes (atmosphere included). Pressure starts to build with nervousness and the speed of the game will move much faster. It will be a very good learning experience for the young guys on this roster. To get to the playoffs (stay in) the Flyers need to get better defensively and start playing a much smarter game at both ends of the ice. |

Wow, what a stupid article. I don't think anyone, even Flyers fans, expected to win a cup after the trades last season. Those trades were for the future. |

I'm annoyed by the overall mood of that article. The Flyers never made those trades in hopes of reaching the cup this year. You don't trade the cornerstone players of your team for young talents/draft picks and expect to make a run at the cup. It's just a poor article... |

I agree. My take on it is it is an article written by pool reporters who probably haven't even seen a Flyers game. And used superficial elements to put together a story. I hate articles with no name on them. |

The things the article points out aren't untrue: certainly the Flyers have troubles at home, they aren't looking like the contender teams like the Rangers or Detroit, the defense has struggled, and (as if we'll ever forget) Bryzgalov has had an underwhelming debut here. But that introduction, the suggestion the offseason moves were to "turn them into" a contender this year, I think is flawed. |

I think trading JVR in a package for JJ would make more sense than for Schenn. The Leafs need a center most and LA is looking for a winger (insert JVR) |

10 points would be very difficult to make up on the Rangers at this point in the Season. Especially when it seems they can't beat the Rangers.
