i would make both trades, the leafs are way to small up front. Nash and JVR would fix that problem

I for one wouldn't. JVR has never ever stood out to me, schenn may have had an awful start, but the ability is there. i like JVRs playoff performance, be we need a guy to get us there, not one that will do good once we get there.

seeing as the price for Carter is in the toilet and his cap is reasonable for c-bus (they wont ever sign a number 1 c for that price) i think he is less likely to go before the deadline than ppl say.

Plus factor in inflation at 2-3% per year. In 10 years, Carter will be making, in real terms, about 40% less than today.

You're right he isn't. But 27 years old, 4 straight seasons of 29 plus goals, include one 40 plus goal season, 6'4, and has had some great seasons on the PK....pretty solid on defense, you can't really do too much better than that can you?

I would trade for both carter and nash because according to kipper if you payed top dollar for nash clb will throw carter in for next to nothing and if the leafs got both they would no longer be a rebuilding team.

Flyer fans are worse than leaf fans when it comes to riding their own players.
Plus the whole bad apple thing tends to be brought up way too much. I know of a certain west coast player who parties pretty hard with the ladies and some other stuff, yet fans of that team seem to think he's a salt of the earth type of a guy.
