i wouldnt say schenn has been a top player this year... he needs to learn to react quicker... he isnt fast enough to cheat forward the way he has this year

No your right this year he hasnt. He has shown potential and he had the hype that would make it seem like he should be. I guess its more a "he's supposed to be" than a "he is" a top d on the leafs.

people need to remind themselves he's only 22

once he learns to stop pressing forward as much he'll be fine.. and be a rock solid shutdown guy for whoever he plays for (if he gets moved as some rumours speculate)

Understand what your saying, but i havn't exactly seen him struggle night in and night out? He plays solid defense? Why is Gunnar so high on leaf fans lists? Is it mearly because he is cheap? He isnt more offensive? He doesnt do as much defensively? He can't play below the goalline?

his struggles have been recent, in the last 4 games he's been on the ice for at least 5 goals

its a shake up... sitting schenn once in awhile always seems to help his game... could just be he's just one of the players that need a game off here and there

I like schenn, he is a good player with a bright future. He's leafs most physical player. He has 183 hits and is 7th in the league. I guess he is a presence that will be missed. I only include him in a deal, if he is the center piece in a big trade. If he goes we need to add some grit (not necessarily in the particular trade), preferably a forward to park in front of the net.
