Because Coburn couldn't hit water standing in a boat

Stellar. What I meant was, where did his shot go? He used to get his shots through more often.

No question. Have to think his value is at an all-time low. He's currently still experiencing concussion symptoms, as well as likely needing some sort of core surgery. Trading him now, makes little sense.
- PLindbergh31

I wonder how well his hip and abdomen are doing with all of this off time. IF he recovers from the head injury it may turn out to be a blessing come playoff time.

ps. This head injury and the seeming lack of recovery sure is worrisome.

Makes sense.

Currently, and it seems more than likely the Flyers will be playing one out of Florida, Pittsburgh or Boston in the first round.

They have a shot against Florida and the Pens. Which I think can be accomplished without wasting assets for say Gill or Kubina. After that you go to round two and I dont see the Flyers making it past the teams there. Even with Gill or Kubina.

I understand going as deep as you can, and in the playoffs anything can happen, but management needs to be realistic here.

There is nothing in Homer's 5+ seasons as GM to think he is doing anything but being realistic.

have you already abandoned the Selannie/Visnovskie dream?
- Crimsoninja

Nope, there are a lot of options out there, but Kubina plus Moore or Hall is cheaper on the cap, and may allow Homer to make more moves....

Yes, if we kept him on the 4th line LW, we never would have needed Shelley.

- Flyskippy

Exactly. We don't miss him and I consider Sbisa to be a soft player and I think he's disappointed in the offense (although I don't see him enough to be entirely sure) but if there was a time to get as serious about drafting Dmen as Nashville, it's now.

It has to help somewhat not experiencing the wear and tear of games. I said before, I think JVR played a few games after being concussed. He took that elbow on the chin in the home game vs. Ottawa, and played 3 games after that. Playing while concussed is a horrible thing, as we have seen with Crosby and Pronger. On the flip side, when Briere, Read, and Giroux were diagnosed right away, they all returned quickly with no ill effects.

What would you like to discuss? Or should we keep that topic off the table until the appropriate time?

He is doing contact drills now, and this is the second day of them, which is a good sign. To me that means his symptoms have regressed, and he didnt have a set-back after yesterday... if that continues JVR could be ready by the 21st.

Ahh yes, can't wait for all of the "flipping the switch" talk

Glad there's finally a game to watch, though it'll be DVR for this guy tonight.

Wasn't he having trouble with his hip as well even before the concussion?

It's actually been a bit cloudy due to my wife's health issues, but getting sunnier. No potato pancakes in a while, but we do have some frozen ones in the freezer as backup.

Hope you're work day goes quickly!

Cheers, Nutter!

I figure if they win someone will ruin it for me bĂȘte I can watch it and if they lose I will sit through the whole thing only to be disappointed. Seems to be my luck with watching games on DVR.
