Damn.. seems as though I really hit a nerve there.
All I was saying is that it is funny how sometimes things work out well. We got Simmonds and a heck of a blossoming prospect in Schenn from the Kings. We got Voracek and Coots for Carter. Not only did we get incredibly young as a result... but we got guys who have out produced their counterparts. Didnt once say because Hartnell has 50 points he is a better player than Kopitar.
Looking at Simmonds.. typically guys do "suddenly become better" as they get older and garner more NHL experience. Sort of like Giroux going from 40 some points a few years back to the season he had last year and so far this year.. Players absolutely DO "suddenly become better" - jak521
No, didn't hit a nerve. Just bored at 5:30 in the morning and my fingers keep moving. I'm not usually a novelist my bad.
Players do get better, I understand that. But having NHL Center Ice (and staying at a Holiday Inn Express), I've watched quite a few Flyers games and Simmonds is doing what he did on the Kings and what we all loved him for.
My main point was about Richards though. It is not as if he suddenly regressed and sucks now. He is just on a team that happens to be the worst offensive team in the NHL and playing a different style of hockey that he is used to, even though he was a good 2 way player to begin with. Plus playing on an ever revolving line doesn't help.
My main thing about what you're saying is your guys are outproducing the counterparts. While on the surface that is true, you've got to look at the surface to figure out why. If either Carter or Richards was on Vancouver, Detroit, or Boston, odds are their numbers will be higher than most players on the Flyers. Does that make the trade bad then? See where I'm getting at? |

first song I heard today.
I was playing the air drums in my truck on the way to work, it wasn't safe but I was impressing everybody in the other cars I'm pretty sure.

When air drumming while driving, do you steer with your knees/legs?

Simmonds is an excellent slot man on the PP, and he's already set a season high in shots. If he had been able to crack a full time spot on the Kings PP, we may be looking at someone else in the Richards deal.

Ville Leino will make his return to Philadelphia on Thursday night. He has underachieved in 2011-12 with the Buffalo Sabres, with just four goals and 11 assists in 45 games, but is looking forward to playing in Philly again. Leino is slated to skate alongside Jason Pominville and Derek Roy in the contest.

Guess you could say his signing could be the biggest offseason disappointment? |

A full 60 minutes please.
Even if there was a fail in the win column tonight, a full 60 minutes of strong effore will be a step in the right direction. - nails
Hi nails. Was wondering where you were.
And yes, 60 minutes, please. Or 65. Or 65 plus the gimmick. Whatever it takes. |

Simmonds has been nothing short of a fantastic fit for the Flyers.

The Bolts are officially sellers
Kubina might be one hell of a fit, a top 6 big bodied right handed shot on the point. Something the Flyers haven't had in a long time |
