We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America - 2731color
...and we will make readily available botox injections for sweaty people, free abortions for people that dont use contraceptive, food stamps for lottery winners, and unemployement for drug dealers... All at the expense of the working class, so our lower class constituants will vote for us. |

I'm hoping the Flyers are not on his list of teams, this keeps the Flyers from being idiots which is needed at times.
Oh look, a sparkly object gimme gimme - Buts16
If they move the pieces to do it, it's not instant cup, it's not making us better than the Rangers, its making us Columbus for about two years. Possibly even turning them into a contender or cup winner much like we did for Colorado with Lindros. |

Pierre McEdzo was just on WFAN radio talking pucks, he said the Rangers are head and shoulders above anyone in the East. Not earth shattering.
He expects the Flyers to be a first round exit, due to suspect defense, and poor goaltending.
His sleeper teams in the East are Pittsburgh and Ottawa, and Nashville, St. Louis in the West.
Race for the Hart trophy two horse race between Malkin and Lundqvist.
Expects Nash to land in LA. - PLindbergh31
Did he mention anything about Crosby's massive thighs?

They've had a terrible season, but I don't think it's as doom and gloom as everyone makes it out to be.
Carter has had an injury-riddled season. Wisniewski missed games because of injury and suspension. Steve Mason has been terrible.
The still have a good core of: Carter, Nash, Umberger, Johansen, Calvert, Wisniewski, Methot and Tyutin.
They have some dead weight to shed and some holes to fill, but a couple of trades could have them decent again soon. - bradleyc4
they were behind the 8 ball before the season started, they don't have that bad a roster but they have lots of work to do.
I like that Nikitin kid they traded for. |

I agree. If he made $6.5mm, maybe....$7.8mm is a huge ticket - Jsaquella
I hope a top in the league does trade for him. No disrespect to Nash because I do like him and I do respect his skill but he hasn't been a 4 goal guy in along time and the states suggest he's not exactly found defensively. If a top team trades for him, they'll be giving up a lot and screw up the chemistry of this top team. |

You have to entertain all available players. I just wouldnt put my chances in getting Nash very high (if im the Flyers). Defense is a priority bc Pronger may never play again, Timonen one year left, Carle is an UFA at the end of the year. We need to upgrade the defense at some point, thats the priority. - stveshdy
You entertain it to the point of um
Good player- check
Needs half our roster to get here- check
Makes too much money- check
Other areas are greater concern-check
No Columbus we aren't interested |

If he thinks Nashville, St Louis and Pittsburgh are sleepers he's an idiot. They have to be 3 of the top 10 teams favoured to win the Cup.
Hey it's his opinion and he could be right but anybody can make such blanket and not really earth shattering statements. I guess Ottawa is his only going out on a limb comment. - Buts16
Yeah, I basically knew what he was going to say before he said it. He wasn't exactly going out on a limb.
The one thing he said that was interesting was about the Rangers leading the NHL in blocking shots. It makes zero sense that the Rangers haven't gotten any broken bones from all the shots they have blocked. |

He mentioned Crosby once. Said it hurts the sport that he can't play. Another one of his Captain Obvious statements. |

After all of that lets say the Flyes trade for Nash.
Now we have to add his cap hit in over the length of that contract. Then we have to look at all the players, picks, and prospects it may take to acquire him. Oh and will still have a terrible defense. Ill pass. |

federal tax receipts this year are expected to be about 14.8 percent of GDP. By contrast that figure was 17.5 percent in Bush’s last full year in office.
USA Today analysis: found last year that if we include everything -- federal, state, and local taxes, including income, property, sales, and other taxes -- the percentage of personal income that's paid in taxes is still at its lowest level since 1950.
- omaplata
For which income bracket? Considering about 50% of americans are either unemployeed, or will receive tax money back, that leaves people like me, that are married, without kids, and make just enough not to be able to get wellfare, to fit everyone else's bill.
I cant give you exact numbers, but 90% of all taxes come from 5% of the population... |

I would stop being a Flyers fan if they made that trade offer. Columbus would win a stanley cup before us. |

The Bruins have a heck of defense
Not one of the top 6 they drafted, all traded or signed as UFAs
So perhaps you don't have to draft dmen, you just need to trade and sign the rights ones.

How do you plan on moving Briere? He isnt going to waive his NMC. If he would I think the Flyers would make a deal to get Nash. |

Yep. Mcguire said he said the one concern he has with the Rangers is a rash of injuries due to their fearlessness when blocking shots.
He also said the Rangers have a prospect rich pipeline. |

Torts says block shots of you don't play.
I blocked a couple last night and I'm sore as hell today, I could imagine blocking shots 4 nights a week for 100 games a year |
